1. Its absolutely shocking. Why anybody in power never thinks to send out the navy to stop this nonsense and protect your borders.

2. According to the left wing person who argued with me earlier they’re no longer “immigrants” as soon as they land.  

   They said we therefore need to follow the [Trade Union Congress’ advice to give them preferential diversity hiring for decent jobs based on the colour of their skin](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/aug/12/tories-left-legacy-of-structural-racism-in-uk-jobs-market-says-tuc) because too many ~~migrants~~ BME people are in badly paid work and need our support.

   Eat your hearts out white British working class folk these are the ideological thoughts of your unions and compadres who want to put these boat people ahead of you in the decent jobs queue.

3. Cancellation of the anti migrant measures might not have been sensible.

4. Well every newspaper printed images of the recent counter-protests with signs saying “refugees” welcome and it was presented as though the UK had come to a consensus on this. So I guess we’re just giving them the green light to make the journey.

   And since the far-right idiots decided to throw a tantrum and attempted murder of random immigrants, any discussion about immigration is now off the table. There’s nothing more we can do now.

5. Jesus fuckin christ *EDIT: potentially 255,000 per year and growing if this were to be a daily occurance. So let’s say (hypothetically) in 5 years time that’s 1,277,500 people. That’s absolutely insane and will break this country

9. It’s more the backward cultural impact some migrants have.

   Religion before everything, patriarchy, homophobia, illiberalism, etc, are qualities we don’t want in the UK. And that’s what most bring

10. Because we are English and it is the lingua franca we will always be the number one target. Our immigration policies absolutely need to be on point. We can’t have a massive backlog of people waiting and we can’t keep privately renting out hotels to house whoever arrives.

    Our biggest defence was the Rwanda policy (as shit as it was) mainly because the all the immigrants were put off by it. If that is / was our only defence we are in deep trouble.

    So far we have had that policy cancelled and a statement saying social housing is open to all. If people know they are going to get put up in hotels with the possibility of a free house these numbers will continue to skyrocket.

11. This is only going to increase over time and honestly government action/inaction isn’t even the main factor to blame for it.

    As climate change escalates and geopolitical tensions get worse, you’re only going to have more displaced people seeking asylum over time, not less.

12. Sadly the only realistic solution to this is to somehow set up an asylum processing centre in France. Anyone found to be crossing the channel after that should then have any asylum claim immediately rejected and deported.

14. Just looked at the picture on the site and I’m pretty sure they’re all grown men but 1 lady at the front. They’re not refugees, they don’t need help. We need to get the navy involved

15. i wonder if people who think this is fine would welcome a policy to send cruise ships to ports across africa, asia and anywhere else people who want to come to Britain are from. why only accept people athletic or rich enough to make the voyage themselves? it’s discriminatory! let’s actively go and pick up whoever wants to come, wherever they are. how many millions of people before the “antiracist” angels say enough?

17. Kier Starmer will need to tackle this issue soon. He’s shown he can be decisive if he wants to be (just look at how the riots were tackled).

    It comes down to whether he really cares I suppose.

18. First they need to say that anyone that arrive illegally
    on boat will NEVER be given status here.

    Then they need to figure out how to deport people without being told off by the European court or some activist.

    They also need to work with the French so they stop chaperoning people across.

    They also need to go after the gangs.

    They also need to implement a fair and swift system for genuine asylum seekers.

    Lastly, if all else fails, then get the Navy to turn the boats around.
