In one respect I laughed at the trolling of live TV.
On the other hand, seeing the mum on the left of camera sing this then all the kids join in made my heart sink, as they’ve no actual idea what they are chanting. I would argue the middle aged woman has no idea either.
Surely both communities can agree we don’t need to feed this shit to our kids in celebrating an Olympic boxing Gold medallist?

If you’re wondering why some North Inner city Dubs support the IRA it’s because during the 80s/90s when the heroin epidemic got particularly bad some communities there decided to march on drug dealers’ houses and try to force them to move out by chucking their furniture out onto the street and demanding that they leave the area. Some of the leaders were SF TDs and the Provos put out a statement saying drug dealers would be dealt with severely if they retaliated against the anyone involved in the marches. In fairness to the communities this was basically a last resort as the state and Gardaí were badly failing them and the drug dealers were openly flaunting their wealth while their children were getting addicted to heroin in droves and dying due to it. Not trying to justify the chanting here it’s stupid but this might be an explanation on how the parents starting the chant in this vid might view the IRA as this would’ve been when they were growing up.
