  1. On August 9th, in the village of Oktyabrskoe in Russia’s Kursk region, a column of trucks carrying Russian troops was struck by HIMARS-fired cluster munitions, resulting in the convoy’s destruction.

The video shows numerous burnt-out trucks, with many bodies of Russian soldiers in the rear of the vehicles. The Russian citizen who filmed and uploaded this video to social media was subsequently arrested by Russian authorities.

  2. Perhaps the most remarkable to me is that the explosions were enough to wipe out the troops and the tires, but no trucks were rolled. They all appear to have parked due to a flat tire (or three) and the men in the back just…stopped being alive. And villagers are just going around in the background doing their thing, the missiles were very precise, and the trucks didn’t even keep driving on their own when the driver was killed.

I am glad this column is no longer in the war, but will admit a morbid curiosity as to how that much power can do the necessary damage while being so tidy.
