  1. Joke aside it had great vibes, a bit weird artistically speaking and Paris was see in all its elegance.

    Very French lol

  2. Just got out of Paris. Spectacular event, very easy to get around, very clean, very safe, great execution of games, pretty much on budget from what I hear. 10/10

  3. I just watched on TV but it seems like the face of France is very.. American? Lady Gaga, Snoop dogg and Tom cruise didn’t feel French to me

  4. French here, and quite proud -and relieved- of the Olympics 2024.

I happily watched TV like never before. Our country is in a politics turmoil, and this was a well needed break.

Now it’s time to go back to our favorite national sport: complain. But the weather is a bit too hot rn, see you in September 🙂

  5. I like France and often visit, but this is only the most heavily currated, completely scrubbed, facelifted, paris-only face of France.

  6. No, it was the best face. The true face is all of its faces at once.

  7. Depressing, disrespectful of Christianity, and with weirdness out the wazoo. On the other hand, the 20 or so minutes from LA were better than the entire nonsense in Paris. So at least we can look at that in the future.

  8. the athletes and fans had a blast, Macron’s next challenge is proving that France’s true face can handle a bit of post-Olympic reality with just as much flair

  9. yes, a curated event funded by billions is JUST what everyday life is in france for everyone. that’s all you should think about

  10. at the same time the seine showed the true feces of france

  11. Police everywhere ? Poor people sent elswehere out of sight ? Macron’s true dream. What an idiot

  12. I don’t know if it’s true face of France but outside of my team performing badly, I couldn’t help but notice how well it was all prepared. Stands were packed, people were cheering everybody and some venues were magnificent. Generally there was a feel of grand festivity of a highest caliber.

France definitely deserved not only to host this one but probably yet another some decades in future.

  13. Too many events. Skateboarding, breakdancing, etc? Next up, jet ski ballet…

  14. Aside from the most popular places, Paris smells like shit (feces if you want the formal term), and French people are very intractable. Few EU countries have good options for tourism, and others are dangerous because of immigration from Africa.

  15. After the opening i never watched olympics, just wonder how Napoleon would react to it

  16. I appreciate the reduction in the spending and the good security, all while hosting a great olympic games.

  17. So the Excrement filled Seine which they kept delaying an event to use instead of move the event, an awful decision to hold one event the other side of the world and cutting corners when building the pool.

    I jest. Partly

  18. I hope he understands that’s more of an insult to France than a compliment

  19. Excellent games, the French were great hosts as expected and all the celebrations and athletic events were magnificent. I am sure that Pierre de Coubertain would be proud. Thank you France!

  20. So is it a self insult or a self praise? Or is it both- that would be very respectable if thought of consciously,

  21. It was a spectacle, but I can’t get over the 10,000+ homeless people forcefully relocated from the streets of Paris to locations that are not permanent shelters, or the athletes who got sick from swimming in the Seine (especially considering there were countless venues available where hygiene was not an issue).

  22. Elisabeth Moutet must be pissed, the lady hates France with a vengeance. Predicted that the Olympics would be a failure with almost glee.

  23. And it’s blue and gay. And before anyone gets mad, I’m pro blue and pro gay. 💙

  24. Has anyone done the maths of how many athletes in total got sick after swimming in the Seine?

  25. Yeah, the river flowing with feces and E.Coli bacteria surely is part of that true face.

  26. They showed how beautiful Paris is and the organization, in general, was well planned and executed. I liked the optional additions to the games..

However, the openning ceremony created unnecessary tension.
And, at the closing ceremony, they showed how much they like Meditarennian Oil… sorry Friendship of Greece..

  27. Yes. Forcing athletes to swim in a shit-infested river sounds pretty French to me

  28. Rather the real face of Paris, foreigners and Parisians don’t know what are the real faceS of France. :’)
