Team sports are lame. Imagine collaborating with your fellow man 🤮
Who is Bas, and why are we paying them?
How the fuck are we still on par with the UK, everything single metric, what sorcery is this?
Idk. I prefer to stay at 5th place but to be ranked better than the Low-Lands
I mean every athlete of a team gets a gold/silver/bronze medal. So technically we did bring all those medals home. Not our fault that we turned out to be the best ones in both women’s and men’s field hockey, giving us 32 gold medals for 2 disciplines.
About half of those 50 golds is the two hockey teams.
“11 gold medals for football” like the one we won against you where we scored 5 goals?
But then I think we should be allowed to claim former colonies as well!
I still don’t get the point of olympic football
My country would go from 6 medals to 15 so I’m all for this
Imagine getting subed at minute 89 and not getting one of those 11 gold medals.
Also give one for every horse that competed and we go crazy!
Congratulations to the swamp people!
For football or any team sports it would be more than the number of players in the field at any given time since the teams have many more people to rotate and sub the starting ones.
Football would be more like 20 for example
1 medal per athlete makes totally sense because 1 sport where you need many people of high talent should be valued more than one where you have the champion of once in a lifetime that wins everything for a while and then you go back at winning nothing.
but if the rules were changed then IOCs would operate differently and this can’t be applied to current result.
but also has to be balanced because then you can have a stupid sport that needs a lot of people barely doing anything and then the winner gets lots of medals while other competitive sports only give 1 despite having lots of very skilled people competing at the top levels.
The Dutch? Spain is by far the ones benefiting the most from this
I think there are 23 football players in a team.
What is OR ARG BRO?
Olympic record argentina brother?
Gold medals per capita this way?
pays-bas? This is a low cost version of basque country?
Now add the 4th places and we see who won the most.
As we all know home field advantage is a big factor in the olympics, france should be deducted a fraction of their medals to account for this. This brings us above them as usual and as it should be.
Wtf 11 gold medals for football??? There are 25 players in the team
I love all these mental gymnastics posts with you all trying to twist niche statistics into some kind of victory….
‘See guys, If you look at Medals per wheel of cheese, you will see that “insert former colonial power” is actually coming 4th rather than 15th’
Just in case : Barry you are not on our level. Yes we have the same amount of medals but ours are better. We have more gold and silver, you only have more bronze !!! Sucks to be you
