1. They will eventually come back to their homes trashed and looted by their fellow Russians.

2. Unfortunately war generates refugees. But the fact that Russia must foot the logistical overhead this time must surely have sat firmly in the “pros” column when the Ukrainians were deciding whether to invade. Hopefully the clogged roads and plentiful dashcams (remember Ukraine is offering $1000 for footage of military conveys, and these people certainly need the cash) will hamper Russian units as they try to get into Kursk.
