Oh ffs. Cant my city catch a fucking break for once.
Guy pulls a knife on a bus
And then again in a restaurant
Only gets a suspended sentence. I thought possession of a knife was meant to be instant jail time
Gets spared prison due to worry the impact the environment would have on him, cry me a river. What about the impact he has had on the driver or the people on the bus.
Day we stop catering for the few and use mental illness (this time seemingly just low iq) as a get out of jail free card would be great.
“Sending you to prison for 20 months I’m concerned about how much could be achieved given how over-filled prisons and young offenders institutes are.
“I’m worried about the impact the environment would have on the people you associate with and the rest of your life. I’m going to give you a final chance.”
We are actually a laughing stock
>Nesbeth, now 20, of Bomers Lane in Rednal, admitted making threats with a knife and possession of a knife.
Meanwhile:
[20 months in prison for a Facebook post. 6 Days from Post to Prison](https://www.reddit.com/r/JordanPeterson/comments/1eo9j2l/20_months_in_prison_for_a_facebook_post_6_days/).
Good thing he didn’t post anything to Facebook.
Then it could’ve been a serious sentence.
When he kills someone I hope the judge gets time for being complicit.
The judge added: “I’m just pursuaded in your case you ought to be given a final chance.
“Sending you to prison for 20 months I’m concerned about how much could be achieved given how over-filled prisons and young offenders institutes are.
“I’m worried about the impact the environment would have on the people you associate with and the rest of your life. I’m going to give you a final chance.”
Mr Nesbeth responded “cheers fam nice one, can I ave my knife back then or do I ave to buy a new one for my next punishable crime that I’ll walk away from Scott free?”
‘Fam stop the bus’ as if that isn’t the most pathetic thing anyone has said whilst trying to look ‘ard. Lock him up and throw away the key.
Yet people went to jail for tweets or shouting abuse at police. Repeat after me, there is no two tier system.
It is not the sentence but the delay that matters. It has taken nine months from last November to bring this to court, which means as far as this fine, upstanding citizen and all his mates were concerned, there were no consequences.
This is probably why he continued to carry a knife, leading to his second arrest in March, which is still five months ago.
Even if he’d drawn two years inside, it is so long after either offence that neither he nor anyone else in similar circumstances will make the link back to last November.
So far as he and his mates were concerned, he got away with pulling a knife on a bus with cctv.
For deterrence to work, justice needs to be quick, as it has been for some of the rioters, and funnily enough, it’s all gone quiet on that front.
“The barrister added he had been assessed as being immature, highly suggestive to negative influences with a ‘markedly low IQ’.”
Two tier justice.
Sentencing in this country is a joke. No wonder so many people are getting stabbed.
The fuck do you actually need to do to get a prison sentence?
It seems so completely random.
I feel like the laws, and the CPS sentencing guidelines, need a complete review from the top down.
When you got cunts getting 20 months for twitters posts, and dickheads like this not serving a day, you gotta ask yourself what the hell is going on with criminal justice in this country.
And now all his friends will see there are no consequences to carrying knives and are probably laughing at how lenient the system is towards knife crime.
Someone else mentioned the sentencing for the riots. Sentencing was incredibly fast with relatively long sentences, and its clearly to act s a deterrent for the future. Why isn’t this same treatment given for knife crime too?
> He eventually fled, but four months after the terrifying incident he was arrested for having another knife in a restaurant.
I need to learn how to eat stake without a knife on a restaurant.

Another joke sentence. This is the problem right here, joke sentences.
As a black man myself I don’t get this anger and hate you see in some black youths like this man.
Honest question, why does the legal system lick the ass of people who have no respect for society? This guy should be in prison.
I’m sick of this “prison will make them worse” bullshit . If it makes him worse, put him back for longer, if it makes him worse again, put him back for longer again. If he manages to make it all the way to the end his life being unsuitable for society, I’m fine with him spending all of it in dickhead storage.
How can you have multiple knife offences and not get sent to prison? Suspended sentence is a joke.
Having this happen right after the prison sentences being dished out for rioters is confusing. Where’s all this extra prison capacity that’s been found to imprison rioters?
So naturally because you miss a stop you whack out a Rambo knife and threat to take someone’s life and thus throwing yours away in the process over maybe 5-10 minute walk.
The emotional intelligence and impulsivity is astounding
The law needs to be changed, threats with a knife should be treated as attempted murder
So his sentence is suspended why exactly?
What is the reason these people can walk the streets carrying knives with no threat whatsoever of ending up in prison.
Everything about this guy, starting with rudely shoving past an elderly couple to get on the bus without paying, says he’s a complete scum bag.
He is not safe to have on the streets around decent people.
And people say there’s not a 2 tier system in this country!
Got less time than a lad who ‘gesticulated’ in front of police
Got less time than a guy who reposted offensive Facebook posts
Got less time than someone who climbed the m25
But I guess it’s good that CPS has created ‘panels’ to quickly help communities
The UK is honestly lost
Call me radical, but perhaps someone who was in prison, had served half their sentence and behaved impeccably could be released in order to make space for this reprobate.
Georgina Ellis, defending, said: “His reason for having a knife is sadly not uncommon.
“It was for self defence.”
I’m sorry judges need to just come down hard on solicitors who use this defence.
I wonder if this kid even knows what a Rambo knife is
I can already see/hear the hand-wringing when this fella gets arrested for stabbing someone to death.
