3. If they can’t get top 4 with all the players they’ve signed this window especially they’ve never got a chance

4. They won’t even get T4, so many teams are gunning for a Europe spot this season. If they have their usual Unitedness and capitulate like they always do, they might not even get in Europe

5. The owners could come out and say from this day on they’re taking 90% of all income as dividends and the club will have to operate on 10%  and the diehards would find some way of saying it’s a brilliant approach designed to streamline costs and bring youth players through. 

   Three people would mount a protest outside the club shop before using their expensive season ticket to go into the game and leave twenty minutes early. 

6. Most proper Rags I know live very much without delusion, and are very aware of their new reality.

   Realism > optimism in my book, especially when it isn’t going well.
