I asked ChatGPT if it could give me a list of countries that are smaller than London. It answered:
“Certainly! London covers an area of about 1,572 square kilometers (607 square miles). Here’s a list of countries that are smaller than London in terms of area:
Vatican City – 0.49 km²
Monaco – 2.02 km²
Nauru – 21 km²
Tuvalu – 26 km²

Liechtenstein – 160 km²
Saint Kitts and Nevis – 261 km²
Maldives – 298 km²

Grenada – 344 km²
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – 389 km²

I knew Monaco and Liechtenstein were micro nations but I never knew Liechtenstein is 80 times larger than Monaco, or that Andorra is three times as large as Liechtenstein.
Fun fact: Liechtenstein’s national anthem uses the same melody as God Save the King.

What puts it into more perspective is that Liechtenstein is only 2.5 x Windsor Estates
There is a popular pub crawl in Liechtenstein where people walk across 3 countries (Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland) in an afternoon. Weird place.
If you enjoyed this cross post, you will love this site, which generalises it and lets you compare many pairs of geographies with each other:

talked to a Swiss guy that accidentally invaded them one afternoon doing his national service. Forgot a flag though.
Small enough that you can [hire the entire country for £43K per night](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/apr/15/liechtenstein-hire-rental-scheme#:~:text=Executives%20with%20cash%20to%20burn,country%2C%20albeit%20a%20small%20one) (theoretically)
