  1. Gonna be honest

Went into this thinking it’s Reginald D Hunter he couldn’t have been that bad right it’s probably Zionists Zionising all over the place

But no. Shit joke about Domestic abuse being comparable to the actions of israel and following it up by saying Jews are money hungry.

  2. >After the show, Hunter said his partner sought out the review, but could not access it online because of a paywall, saying: “Typical f—— Jews, they won’t tell you anything unless you subscribe.”

Everything else aside, this is just plain antisemitism.

  3. > The Telegraph’s theatre critic Dominic Cavendish, who was in the audience, said: “The pair, who said they were from Israel, then endured their fellow audience members shouting expletives (‘f— off’ among them), and telling them to go – with slow-hand claps, boos and cries of ‘genocidal maniac’, ‘you’re not welcome’ and ‘free Palestine’ part of the toxic mix.”

I thought we weren’t supposed to blame entire groups of people on the actions of some?

  4. Truth be told, I think complaining about a joke you don’t like when watching comedy is bad form to begin with, but his response to this and the follow up about the Jewish Chronicle are not on, and I doubt he’s react well to a joke about black stereotypes in the same way. Aren’t comedians meant to be able to handle heckles by humiliating their detractors with humour?

  5. Watch him not get cancelled because it’s Jew hate, not racism towards another group

  6. The story is burying the lede.

    >“Typical f—— Jews, they won’t tell you anything unless you subscribe.”

    How is this okay?

  7. Worst “comedy” show I ever attended was a Reginald D Hunter show at the fringe. Total waste of time. Utter shit.

I am not Israel’s greatest fan myself.

What I don’t like is this harassing all Israelis and even worse, harassing all Jewish people. Get a fucking grip you bigoted cunts.

  8. The appropriate heckle here would be “imagine we’re sitting on a bus”.

  9. Really wanted this to be bullshit, I liked him on panel shows back in the day.

Turns out there’s probably good reason he doesn’t do them any more.

  10. With the crackdown on this kind of speech, the police will pay a visit? Right?

  11. Israel is like an abusive spouse = OK (although I’m honestly not sure I see the joke here – are Israel and Palestine meant to be married? Or is it a joke about the relationship between the West and Israel? Genuinely not sure what he’s trying to convey)

Israelis, get out of my show = Not OK

Jews are money grabbing = Literally stereotypical antisemitism.

How is it so hard for people to tell the difference???

  12. Am sure Hope Not Hate will be up in arms when they hear about th… oh wait.

  13. This sounded like a non-event of a couple of Israelis heckling a comedian over a joke involving Israel and then choosing to walk out of the show, with an overly inflammatory headline that made Hunter look bad…

… right up until he followed up with a blatantly antisemitic joke about money-grabbing Jews that completely destroys any sympathy I had for him:

    > recounting that he was once made aware that someone from the Jewish Chronicle would be watching his show for a review.

    > After the show, Hunter said his partner sought out the review, but could not access it online because of a paywall, saying: “Typical f—— Jews, they won’t tell you anything unless you subscribe.”

  14. I’m Jewish, pro israel and frankly, this was just a an average joke. Nothing to see. If you don’t want to be offended don’t buy tickets to watch a famously contrary comedian do his thing. The follow up about jews and money, is different though.
