I have the Easy internet subscription (150GB/month with a speed of 100Mbps). I guess due to watching a lot of Olympic events I finished the 150GB before the last day of my month (in this case 18/08). I was warned by email by Telenet that after my data is finished I would still be able to use the internet but at a slower speed – no problem. However now the speed is barely 1Mbps!! Is that normal?? I also did a speedtest via Ookla and got the same result.

Telenet is just an awful company. This internet package wouldn’t even be worth the price if it had no data cap.
Yes it’s normal that when exceeding limits ur speeds gets throttled to 2 mbit/s or something
But what’s not normal is you choosing telenet (and a subscription with stupid download limit, its 2024 cmon)

It’s a f*cking tragedy that telenet still gets away with this bullshit, in the 2010’s you already had much faster, data-capless fiber connections in countries like Romania for a quarter of the price a copper connection costs you here in Belgium.
