Over 30,000 people out in Botswana’s 🇧🇼 biggest stadium to welcome Letsile Tebogo!🤯

This is what the country’s first Olympic GOLD means to them.

They got a second public holiday in a week as well for this.

  1. That is fantastic!

I hope the time comes when there is more parity in medal distribution.

Less USA/China/(Used to be Russia) and more Anyone might win.

  2. 30,000 people in a country of only 2 million is a big welcome.

  3. This is really cool to see. Recently Biniam Girmay (from Eritrea) won the green jersey in the Tour de France and got a similarly huge homecoming welcome.

  4. Lovely moment to capture. They also had an absolutely brilliant 4×100 as well, those silvers deserve to be celebrated as well!

  5. Looks like it was also used as an opportunity to showcase/promote loads of other athletes, and just sport in general.

Not just a lovely celebration but a super smart call at a policy level (especially in a country like Botswana that has such a large youth population).

  6. Wow some western countries could learn a little from this. What a show of joy and celebration!

  7. Super classy. Awesome to see them celebrating sport in general.

  8. I guess Letsile’s gold is so heavy that it’s almost tipping the bus over
