Saw a vid of his arrest. That knife would take your head clean off. €400 bail and free to walk the streets. Absolute joke of a justice system we have.
Party of “law and order” in government.
The point of bail is that there is a chance that the person is innocent and you don’t want them doing jail time until they get their day in court. However a judge has to look at the probability of innocence, the likelihood of reoffended and if they are a flight risk.
1. He was caught by the Garda with the weapon and there were multiple eye witnesses that it was him.
2. Reoffending is vague, however for what he was accused of, he clearly wanted somebody dead.
3. The name looks Albanian. If you were caught in his situation, by the Garda, multiple eyewitnesses, weapon found, you will be up to the ferry in Northern Ireland, down through the UK and on the reverse raft to France to get back to mainland Europe and back to Albania.
The guy who recently kicked the Canadian tourist to death lived on Parnell St as well. Is there some slum landlord housing every violent criminal who arrives or is it just the plethora of hostels around there?
Well done judge I doubt that fella will be seen again.

Genuinely curious, would private prisons be a potential way out of this? I know theyre an absolute shitshow in the US but what about UK or European ones, I have no idea
