Kind of crazy our points tally was higher this year than 22/23 lol, I suppose we did drop more points early in the season. And we also threw the last two games against Brighton and Brentford
Alot depends on the mid-lower table clubs.
For Man City to kick into gear and get 95+ points :
1. Rodri needs to stay alive and close to 100%
2. All the Mid-table and relegation teams would have to roll the red carpet for City.
3. Nobody wants to hear/read this, but City would have to get kicked out early from atleast 2 cup competitions. Carabo cup certainly has to be one of them.
4. One team has to challenge City and maintain the threat of 95+ points also, but this team should not get 6 points over City.
Of the 4 things, no.2 is the most important.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the premier league has only been won outside of the north west 9 times.
I hate United and Liverpool… don’t really mind Blackburn, but the dominance from the north west of the country needs to be pointed out more by the pundits.
United singlehandedly bringing the average down by like 5 points 💀
Higher!
Winning the league with 75 points is crazy, wouldn’t have even got top 4 last year. I’m too young to remember that season but it must have been wild because the big teams could drop points anywhere.
Also had they phased out the 2 extra teams by that point? Because it’s even worse if there are 4 more games played
I genuinely think that for us to win the league this season, we’ll need at least 93+ points, it’s going to be a gruelling season but we’re always up for it!
Someone who’s older than me wanna catch me up with why 96/97 is so low?
I personally think we will have less points this year in the league. Overall the mid table teams are getting better and the fact that Leicester and Southampton came up, which had 2 premier league squads in the Championship will make it a much more challenging season for the top 4 teams, but wouldn’t be surprised if we win it again, I think we’ll win it with 88 points
