  1. Completely sensible, there have been leaks before so good to keep operational secrecy even from your allies.

  2. Good, somewhere within NATO is a russian spy or spies, as evidenced by Russia having all of Ukraine’s plans last summer prior to the Tokmak offensive. 

    Best for Ukraine to continue to operate like this, inform their allies after the operation has been initiated. 

  3. Of course they did. That’s just good operational discipline.

    It’s Ukraine’s war. Not anyone else’s. When it’s your war, you fight it however seems best for you. And you inform your allies as a courtesy only when the operation is launched. That’s perfectly normal.

    I’m certain that the Five Eyes nations figured it out on their own anyway, but like good allies they kept their mouths shut about it, and let Ukraine inform them officially when they were ready to.

  4. For the next 3 months, Ukraine needs to be careful with what it shows to the Americans. If Trump wins the election, you can expect every piece of info the USA has gotten to get handed over to Putin.
