Kayaking around the Corrib

  1. Been living for years right by the Corrib and never took advantage of it, which is a bit sad. After looking at the various options to change that, I finally went for a chill sit-on-top kayak and started paddling around the local waters.

These are a few shots from the Corrib/Ballyquirke area. I’m no photographer and that’s just the phone camera, but thought some looked nice and displayed the cool variety of the landscape/waters even in such a small section of waterways. I couldn’t catch any of the many kingfishers on camera, but at least the donkey was more cooperative…

If anyone’s been thinking about chill kayaking on our lakes and waterways, do yourself a service and try it out. It’s a great way to discover the local area from a very different perspective.

edit: not sure why the 3rd shot got uploaded as a tiny image, weird…

  2. Damn, im losing it. I read it as Kaya King, wondered who was swimming

  3. Anyone know if it’s possible to rent a kayak for a day around the Corrib? Google seems to bring me to the tours.
