Sure, makes sense. That affects everyone the housing crisis affects, AND a load more people too.
The gang solve the housing crisis.
If we can’t introduce carbon taxes now, when will we?
And that poll puts the left at 47%. Maybe we will actually see a government without FFG.
It’s a bit disingenuous to put those two things into separate issues, the housing crisis relates to the cost of housing which is a cost of living expense. Typical of the reporting in the independent though.
Feels a bit like government spin.
Biggest cost of living is rent.
Seems like there setting up a situation whereby they hand out grants for Utility bills to win back votes as they have failed with housing.
That’s the great thing about living in Ireland. Just when you think the Government can’t possibly fu k it up any more than they already have, they go ” hold my ( incredibly expensive) beer”
Ireland has a lot of issues right now that were compounded by covid and now we’re starting to feel the affects. There’s massive labour shortage in construction and trade skills. Tax upon tax with high inflation and a decimated tourism sector.
The government will do what they always do, short term policies like giving money back for energy prices that sound sexy in a headline but essentially kicks the can down the road until the next election.
I really wish there was a political party that had progressive policies and weren’t afraid to rustle some jimmies in the Dáil.
Me: My finger hurts
Life: I can help you forget about that pain.
Me: Really, ho…
Life: *SMACK*
Me: Aaah! My face! Why did you punch me br…
Life: *SMACK, SMACK SMACK, SMACK, SMACK…*
Housing is a cost of living expense so same thing.
Fuck carbon taxes. We’re not in any position in this country to bring in these measures.
It was MUP that pushed it over housing
Honestly it really feels sometimes like our parents generation pulled the ladder up after them.
By 1% according to the poll. Also the two are heavily linked
Are they not the same?
At what point do they just come right out and say we’re in recession?
This is such an idiotic headline, the two are inextricably linked for an absolutely vast swathe of the population.
Well it does affect the grey vote more I suppose.
I’m delighted to have a new worry to worry about to be honest. The housing one was getting stale.
Then remove the new alcohol bill.
Just had a look through daft for places in and around Dublin from say Maynooth to Bray. Fairly depressing.
I have a decent job and with a year or two’s study while gaining the years of experience would make me prefer to go abroad and love somewhere else rather than spend 400+ grand for a half decent family raising house in some ok area of Dublin
