Well.. getting wine from a tavern called Swindle Stock what did they expect?
Just odd to think we used to protest that resulted in death and scalping over wine, and those days we hardly allowed to moan against the status quo or have opposing views or lord for it question those in charge.
It’s not like oxford students would be well liked by locals today, but at least no scalping takes place.
I’ve drank some bad beer in my day, but nothing like this.
I’m not surprised. We live in a world where people call the police when KFC runs out of chicken.
University students have stayed constant since the middle ages i see
30 townsfolk and 63 members of the uni
So almost a hundred died actually
So what that basically means is that Oxford students have been entitled pricks for at least 6 centuries.
I’d love to say I’m surprised, but I’m not.
and what a right old booze up they had after it was all over 😀
Good old days. Rugby school had a mutiny once & they blew open the headmasters door with a cannon
Plus 63 people from the university died, 93 in total
Well if the wine was bottled with a twisty cap instead of a cork and aged for under a year then I’d say this is an extremely good outcome all things considered
This is like people today getting into fights or wars over which famous person or which out of two extremely similar politicians they like more, when the celebrities and politicians don’t give a damn about you.
