In addition to being Churchill’s birth place, this castle was the former Mi5 base during WW2. It was a mission critical component of the UK’s intelligent gathering apparatus against the Nazi’s.
Built on the backs, blood, and potential of generations..beautiful as long as we don’t think about it
Britain has the most amazing nature in my opinion, paired with medieval castles and architecture it’s the best.
You could probably land a Bristol Blenheim on those castle grounds
Now that is a flat landscape
I’ve been once and that was to see Ennio Morricone perform with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in 2016. I have real mixed emotions about this, as this was an unbelievable concert however it was also the night of the Brexit vote (staunch remainer). After witnessing this amazing spectacle I then went to bed to awake in the morning to the result.
I took my wife and 2 step sons to this (obviously I paid for everyone) I forget how much it cost, but it wasn’t cheap. But, it was a one off experience. The walk in the grounds was amazing. I believe they were designed by a famous English Landscaper known as Capability Brown.
*Edit : None of the footage was filmed by myself. However I was roughly 10 rows infront.*
They hold a triathlon there each year that is amazing.
Looks like a final approach picture.
That does look pretty slick
The diversity of scenery and the greenness of this small island of Great Britain is quite astonishing.. shame most Brits don’t really know and appreciate it..
I’ve been all over the planet and i don’t think I’ve seen such a patchwork of different landscapes on a relatively small landmass anywhere else.

Isn’t that where Churchill grew up?
That is an amazing estate.
Does anyone currently lives here? Lawn care must be exhausting.
Cool pic.
Just a heads up OP, when posting any picture of the UK you should specify if it’s before or after Brexit. [Here’s an example](https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/qdb79o/comment/hhlbai8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
