“They need to feel what we felt”: Ukrainians react to Kursk offensive in Russia

Ukraine’s surge into Russian territory last week caught Moscow by surprise, seizing the initiative from Russian forces who have been grinding out small but steady gains all year in the east of the country.

Ukrainians are reacting to the military incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. “This is good news, but I would like to see our own regions returned,” said one woman in Dnipro, Ukraine.

“I would like us to be different from the Russians at this point, not to commit genocide, but to treat them humanely. In this way we could show that we are fundamentally different,” said another Dnipro resident.

Others weren’t so forgiving, as another remarked “of course we don’t need these territories. But they need to feel what we felt.”

“May our boys give them (Russians) hell.” a resident from Sumy Region said, from the ruins of her destroyed home.

I have watched many documentary on this part of Ukraine,,,ya all do yourself a favour and do the same learn the history from the early 90s and think for yourself,,the way they are telling you the story is Russia attacked a country at peace,,,,it’s incredible how the news guides people around like sheep

  11. The prerequisite for peace talks is to take Putin seriously and understand him. Putin is a political force. Zelensky remains a comedian and begs for our money and our war resources, both human and material.

  13. This is just temporary. Ukraine needs to show the suckers from the USA and EU, that all the billions funnelled into their coffers is doing something. Come the cold months, the Ukrainians are going to get bogged down and lose. Also, Nov 2024 is on the horizon. If Trump wins, status quo stands and Ukraine will have to make peace with the Rus.

    Without the funding from the rest of the world and the help received from the west Ukraine would have lost this war 2 weeks after they started it.

  24. uKRAINE went into Russia and murdered innocent civilians Israel went into Gaza and murdered innocent civilians (so many children) that is what l see and I don't see it as a reason to celebrate

  26. like feel how russians living in donbass were shelled by ukrainian azov battalion for years before russia decided to step in and protect its russian speeking people. all kursk is going to do is fail,, just like their fathers failed in the battle of their last bulge
