Ukraine is fighting this Kursk offensive in a way Russia cannot operate or defefend mainly because , as I have often said those Kremlin military leaders are following Stalins form of warfare from 1940s but with added longer range missiles element.
The main changes in the 21st century is addition of drone warfare with the element of drone observation 24hr 7/days a week one of the biggest changes along with long distant missiles attacks because of this I believe Ukraine will win
Today George Barros from the ISW said that as well as leaks to the press from border guards and other US military personnel, the White House administration has deliberately passed on information to Russia for fear of escalation. What are your thoughts about this statement? It's no wonder the US and Germany were not informed. However, apparently the Kremlin did know but failed to act.
My reaction to hearing this was anger and I am glad Biden is not running and that in a Harris administration Jake Sullivan is the first to go.
Well, Francis.
Since its easy to make predictions when one's field of study is not demanding precision, unlike pure mathrmstics, I'll give it a go too.
Trump will loose to Harris at least as dramatically as McGovern lost to Nixon and perhsps in a manner similar to Goldwater's earlier defeat.
Trump likely will have his plane, bought thru fraudulent business means, ready to allow him to flee as the returns start showing he can't possibly succeed.
The question then becomes, will New York State police & US Marshalls have prepared for this almost surely to be realized event & stop it before the plane's wheels leave the ground or will Trump flee to Russia where he might be useful to Putin until he is drained of useful information.
This we will discover in less than one hundred days, but Trump's loss is important to a rapid Ukrainian victory since Trump would patronize Putin & he cares little about anything other than money in his pocket and having the aopearance of all he lacks.
History shows that it is not a smart ideea to enter Russia with an army. Maybe Ukrainians will realize that history is meant to be repeated shortly with dire results for the future of Ukraine. As a Romanian I remember the loss of Moldova, the gold reserves and 10 years of Soviet occupation for the payment of war losses we inflicted as a result of our attack in Odessa, Stalingrad etc.
Does James Rothwell need a tissue?
The rubbish that country pumps out to its people is ridiculous.
The Ukrainian authorities say a lot of information that should not be trusted, Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky told reporters.
"They're saying that they will when they were supposed to drink coffee in Yalta, in Crimea, I think, this summer and even last summer. So don't trust [what they say] very much," he said.
The diplomat also pointed out that the attack from Ukraine on the Kursk Region was "an incursion of terrorist sabotage groups." "There is no front line as such. There is an incursion because there are forests that are very difficult to control. They are terrorizing the population. They are committing terrorist attacks," Polyansky added.
He emphasized that there is a lot of speculation around the Kursk attack. "Some people were saying that the British intelligence was involved. Some people were saying that the administration of the United States was taken aback by this [attack], I don't know. We don't want to speculate <…>. We don't have any assessment of whether they were involved or not at this stage," Polyansky concluded.
What about all the terrorist activities that Ukraine has done to people of Donbass since 2014? Why this channel does not talk about this? What about all the attacks on civilians in Kurks? Who is supporting this massacre?
Russia at this stage is not going to request a meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in connection with the Ukrainian attack on the Kursk Region, the country’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky told reporters.
"Not, not at this point," he said in response to a reporter’s question. "We gave our assessment, and frankly, it's up to Ukraine to call maybe for this meeting, because of the losses that they're having in this absolutely reckless and mad operation," the diplomat emphasized.

The situation that has developed to date was commented on by Major General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces, Hero of the Russian Federation, on the air of the “60 Minutes” program on the “Russia 1” channel. He, together with the units entrusted to him, is in the Kursk region and is carrying out a combat mission to destroy the enemy.
According to General Alaudinov, in total, about 12 thousand Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries invaded the Kursk region. The Akhmat commander emphasizes that it was difficult on the first day of the operation, primarily due to the fact that it was difficult to determine where our units were located, where the enemy had managed to advance, and what the number of personnel and equipment the Ukrainian Armed Forces had. No less confusion was caused in the actions of our forces by numerous fakes that spread across the Internet.
Apti Alaudinov:
"However, later the situation stabilized. Already on the first day, together with special operations forces units in the area near Martynovka, we destroyed 32 units of equipment, on the second – more than twenty, on the third – 12."
The commander of the special forces "Akhmat" emphasizes that the enemy who invaded the territory of the Kursk region loses so much equipment that our soldiers have already stopped trying to determine in which country it was produced.
General Alaudinov:
"This equipment burns so well… Just from the technology alone, it is clear that the operation was discussed and prepared collectively, by the entire NATO bloc. And today there is so much destroyed enemy equipment that the Ukrainian military remaining in the Kursk region are losing the opportunity to even go back with it."
The Hero of Russia emphasizes that the destruction of both equipment and manpower of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues:
"Against the backdrop of our destruction of their weapons, they stopped traveling in herds. They try to move in small groups – up to 20 people. They appear on pickup trucks; they even snatched someone’s GAZelle. That is, our own equipment is no longer enough."
The general noted that the military goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation was to capture the Kursk region, a number of strategic objects, and enter the territory of the Belgorod region with its partial capture:
"But it is already clear that the planned blitzkrieg of the enemy failed."
Will Russian forces shell their own towns and villages to try to regain their territory and will this be one of the Ukrainian tactics?

I wish Zelenski would stop thinking of Kursk as something to be bartered. It would be a stronger position to say that Kursk will be held for war reparations.
Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇧🇷
The invasion was to test Russian threats. If Putin doe not use nuclear tactical weapons his threats, and the deterrance is nullified. If he does, then it will gIve the the NATO allies the 'raison d'etre' for massive conventional strikes, which Putin and his henchmen understand. So the most likely result is the fighting continues, business as usual.
I would like to hear what your view on this, the replacement of Gerasimov, means: https://youtu.be/Bp9hh_3oODA?si=J76VWhl7vZvjQbOI&t=1863
In essence Putin is supposed to brake the balance of power that has kept him in office.
I think it’s clear the West didn’t know. This seems to be an obvious act now and ask forgiveness later act. Based on existing restrictions, there’s no way this was endorsed in DC or Berlin.
😂 Ukraine has gone so deep putin 🤡 can't touch his toes now 🫢😁😂🤣😂
Slava ukraini 🔱💪🇺🇦🇵🇱🇨🇵🇬🇧🇪🇺✌️🥰
%The referendum in Kursk region asked for immediate annexation by 97%

Russia has nukes. But do thoses nukes still have their electronics inside them. After all that is a lot of copper to be sold.
the guy talking about Helsinki is an idiot
Always nice to get the view from the West. I always try to get my information from multiple sources. Time will still tell of how successful this operation is or will be.
Telegraph some joy for all the news journalists, we salute Ukraine and the humans who report the goings on. Humans are watching😢
It's ridiculous Zelensky sent everything he could collect to Kursk and failed to achieve victory, while he is planning a catastrophe in the Pokrovsky direction 🤔
IF AFU withdraws from Kursk, Putin will claim that as a victory anyway. So I see no strategic advantage to a withdrawal unless things go horribly wrong.
Vlodomere z 🤣😂🤣
When propaganda overlaps journalism as in this case …
There is underwater drone footage of the Nordstream pipe ends. The metal is folded out and concrete casing lying around in curved lumps. This looks like an “event” from within. Something impossible from outside the pipe.
I agree with Ryan Mcbeth. Ukraine is doing this to force Russia to mobilise and destabilise
Sound bites don’t win conflicts. Please focus on facts not rhetoric
Prezelya having sh*t himself in front of his friends and the people of Ukraine along with his lackeys continues to hide the truth about himself.
A complete collapse, blackout of Ukrainian territory was arranged for unwanted pensioner PrezeZelensky and "Kharkovoblenergo" – Bogodukhov RES (russia could not do this) disconnecting the electricity for several months in order to close his mouth and freedom of speech. And everything is covered by law enforcement officers and DBI of Ukraine.
Great report and honest opinions , thanks everyone ❤
What are we up to now for the worst operation Nato has helped to plan since the last one with the AFU proxy… 25% of operational manpower losses, 50% of allocated equipment and the total loss of face of pantomime Generals (maniacs) connected to it.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have changed their tactics in conducting military operations in the Kursk region in the wake of the failure, General Apti Alaudinov, an associate of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the commander of Akhmat unit of Chechen special forces said.
According to Alaudinov, the AFU planned to take control of the entire Kursk region several days ago, on August 11. However, their plans did not come to fruition. The enemy then "began to press from all sides." The Ukrainian military "are starting to push against all sides" and are thus trying to divide the Russian military, Alaudinov also said.
The Ukrainians will not succeed, Kadyrov's associate indicated. The situation in the border region is under control, and the Russian military continue to annihilate and block Ukrainian troops on the territory of the region.
Ukrainian fighters could not take control of Sudzha, Apti Alaudinov also said commenting on media reports about Zelensky's "blitzkrieg" in Russia.
Ukrainian publication TSN published a report about the capture of the Russian town of Sudzha by the Ukrainian troops. However, the correspondent was reporting while being in Sumy. The video showed Ukrainian military men removing the Russian flag and throwing it on the ground. It was impossible to determine where the video was filmed. It was later revealed that reports about the complete transfer of the city under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine found no confirmation.
Fitch Ratings, following S&P, declared Ukraine bankrupt. Now Kyiv will only be given loans for the war. Private investors have lost their money and will not take any more risks.
Fitch Ratings downgrades Ukraine's rating to RD — "limited default".
The downgrade of Ukraine's long-term rating to RD from C ('default imminent') is due to the expiration of the 10-day grace period for coupon payments on the $750 million 2026 Eurobonds. The rating of these bonds was downgraded to default 'D', while the rating of other foreign currency bonds was affirmed at 'C'.
Fitch has withdrawn the ratings of Ukraine's foreign currency bond issues as they are no longer considered relevant to the agency's coverage.
Debt restructuring means insolvency
On August 9, the Ukrainian government formally launched the consent process for the restructuring of its outstanding $19.7 billion sovereign Eurobonds and $0.7 billion of Ukravtodor's state-guaranteed bonds.
Fitch believes that the proposal constitutes a distressed debt exchange (DDE), as it involves a reduction in principal and interest on the debt and an extension of the maturity profile. Fitch estimates that this will lead to material losses for security holders.
Ukraine plunging into investment crisis
The Fitch agency considered that all of Ukraine's problems have a negative impact on its credit profile.
S&P international rating agency downgraded Ukraine's credit rating from CC/C to SD/SD (selective default) in early August.
Thus, Ukraine is entering a long-term investment crisis, which will not allow the country to attract financing, save for war loans. Western investors start to realize that Kyiv will not be able to repay its debt on loans.
In such a situation, Ukraine will have to resell its sovereign debt to "vulture funds" that have ruined quite a few Latin American countries. Ukrainian assets will be sold at a price several times below their nominal value.
Not everything is clear with military loans either. They will depend on politicians who will soon change their point of view on Ukraine and the conflict with Russia.
