Hydrogen: Not a solution for gas-fired turbines. New study concludes that “hydrogen-ready” gas turbines are unlikely to have any impact on emissions and are mostly a marketing gimmick.

File that under things we already know Jim.
with the fossil industry controlling the entire energy market, all while making sure to lobby the shit out of our gov’t leadership for maintenance of it’s stranglehold…..i call bullshit on anything negative on hydrogen-based energy solutions.
This is what I mean about you editorializing headlines. The title is “Hydrogen: Not a solution for gas-fired turbines.”
The article does a decent summary of why. That being said real engineering work has been done to make hydrogen in turbines possible which is not a gimmick. The emissions impact is directly related to the amount of hydrogen used..
The graph at the end and in your post is kinda silly, Methane (CH4) has four bonds to break during combustion to release energy while hydrogen (H2) has one bond to break; so yes you need more H2 molecules to equal one methane. That is all the graph is really saying. You need to consider the mass price of the two molecules and the energy density to get a better picture on the cost difference between running in methane or hydrogen mode.
100% accurate
The hydrogen shills will try to gaslight you into their claims. It’s all a scam.
