There has been a lot made in the last few years about how wonderful Welsh football is, especially compared to the troubles Welsh rugby has had and the general corruption and greed that plagues football in other countries.
However, I’ve always thought this is just because Wales now frequently qualifies for tournaments and the fans are pretty likeable, and FAW can’t really take credit for either of these. They have a good PR team that uses these to make themselves look likable, but scratch beneath the surface and you find an organisation that’s no better than the WRU or the other football associations it compares itself to. The fact there are apparently no details whatsoever about why this guy has been suspended and then resigned is very strange.
Football in general is pretty rotten to the core, probably moreso than other sports imo. And I say that as a football fan myself. Genuine fans are let down by their governing bodies, both domestic and international.
