  1. Oh yeah, forgot there was an election happening in the US

    Just 2 weeks etc etc

  2. Well it was spread mostly by sex the last time so no need for most on here to worry.

  3. Honestly being called ‘monkeypox’ makes it feel a fair bit more substantial and tangible a threat than ‘covid-19’.

I can picture monkeys, dangerous creatures. Covid still sounds like a streaming platform

  4. Polio is still an international public health emergency, this is not going to change public life.

It’s also the second monkeypox outbreak reaching this level.

  5. Is there reason to panic?

Spread is via fluid contact no?

  6. Again very simple don’t have unprotected gay sex orgies. Last time Monkeypox was a big deal was the same demographic of largely gay/bisexual men who had multiple sexual partners/unprotected sex etc.

If you’re not having tonnes of unprotected gay sex or sex with people who are having tonnes you unprotected sex Monkeypox is a non issue. It’s more funny seeing everyone fall over themselves to change the name because someone found it offensive

  7. I work in a job that involves interacting with peoples half eaten food, accidentally touching hands occassionaly when exchanging goods (and handling change), and involves a significant amount of tourists. Yay.

  8. There’s no money in preventing pandemics.

    Shame really

  9. Is there anything to be said for a substantial meal?

  10. Bringing a whole new meaning to the Dublin classic

Shuuuurrup ya bleedin pox bottle ya.

  11. Why did they drop the monkey?

    How come it’s Mpox now?

  12. I’m not taking this seriously unless George Lee does a live satellite link broadcast from outside the Department of Health.

Then, I will gauge the seriousness of this plague, depending on how much panic is in his voice…
