1. Desecration of war dead is indeed a war crime as well.

4. When this war was new, I used to get so angered by Russian atrocities that I felt Ukraine should have answered atrocities with atrocities to teach them a lesson. But now more than ever, I am convinced Ukraine has to hold its head high and maintain their dignity by refusing to stoop down to the level of the aggressor. Time and time again Ukraine does me proud by holding up to this hope in the humane way they treat their enemy. Restraint, dignity and compassion.

10. They posted a different beheaded Ukrainian soldier earlier this week. And two weeks ago it was a beheaded and de-limbed Ukrainian soldier. That’s just in the last few weeks. 95% of Ukrainian POWs have experienced some sort of abuse or torture in Russian captivity. If the powers that be weren’t sufficiently moved by Bucha or Irpin, they definitely won’t give a shit about this. Russia has cut more heads off than ISIS, and yet most in the west don’t even know.

This was posted by a militant of a brigade (155th) notoriously known for its HUGE losses in the Vuhledar area which even kept in shock the russian military command (and when i say huge i mean even worse when compared to already devastatingly high losses of some other brigades , truly a failure). So a loser brigade with a horrible reputation that even russian military bloggers made fun of countless times.

    Just a fake ´victory ´ which only displays the barbarianism of these losers and believe it , they will get what they deserve, as they always did before.

    You can watch War Archive’s video on the Battle of Vuhledar , you will see the brigade in ‘action’ on the map , they basically got completely wiped out countless times and are reponsible for the loss of hundreds of armor equipment , those being lost in stupid ‘straightforward’ attacks through the minefields.

12. Really do hope the russians that committed this atrocity are identified. Believe they had some recording in connection with this event. One thing is for sure, if (hopefully they will) they are identified, for the rest of their lives they will have to watch behind their backs. Even when the war ends, those that committed war crimes will never be safe, even in russia itself.

    Doing this sort of thing is really bad for two main reasons. For one, it pisses off the enemy instead of demoralizing them. Especially when Ukraine is on the offensive right now, pissing them off will not end well for russian military. Secondly if this is the norm, military will rather die fighting than become a POW which in turn means you will lose more forces because of it (and get fewer POW traded).

    Of course russians are not known for being logical, rational, or strategically competent but this sort of thing ends up biting you back. These sort of acts will not result in them being imprisoned, they will be hunted down.

16. I do not think that this will be the war crime that makes anyone do anything that matters. Red lines are just for crossing these days.

29. The only thing the West can do to prevent and punish these heinous violations of the laws of war by Russia is to send more military aid to Ukraine. No letter of condemnation will stop the Russians from butchering any poor soul that finds themselves on their way.

30. Russia seems to think that there’s no consequences for them, but they are going to be corrected on that, sooner than later, it would seem. They could have emerged from the collapse of the USSR and become a good neighbor, one among many in the developed world. Instead, under Putin, they’ve become … this. Sad. 31. Russians are barbarians. Their leader seeks to end self-governing democracies. Send every weapon to Ukraine. Russia cannot be recovered. It must end and then find a way to begin anew.
