“Michael O’Leary, Ryanair’s chief executive, said on Friday that a reduction of up to one million passengers may be required to ensure that the 32 million per year ceiling at Dublin airport is not breached in 2025, which could subsequently lead to higher fares.
In a statement, the airline also called on the Irish government to help.
[ … ]
Ryanair also highlighted that the 17-year-old traffic cap should no longer apply because it was introduced in 2007 to address then concerns that road traffic to and from Dublin airport would exceed road capacity when Dublin reached 32 million passengers.“
That man really likes to say things.
“please don’t block from constantly increasing my revenue, it’s never enough”
I really don’t like O’Leary, but the Dublin Airport Authority has caused huge problems with air travel in this country by restricting traffic for other airports to benefit Dublin, alongside having terrible employment conditions.
Now if only we could remove airline subsidies…
Fuk u greedy fuks make record profits gov should sur business for stealing money shady business practices
Plane ticket prices need regulation, it’s complete nonsense that the same service can cost 50€ at one time and 400€ at another time.
Great. That is the whole fucking point of the cap.
The same Ryanair charging premium airline pricing at any airport/routes with less competition?
He is correct. An island with a passenger limit is idiotic. We just built a massive new terminal and runway. Other airports have no proper public transport. Can’t even get from Galway to Shannon for morning flights FFS.
This is all just one mans green party idealism screwing the rest of us.
Nobody that values their life flies with Ryanair anyways.
Here’s a thing, I recently spoke to a man who flys every two weeks to malaga because he likes the social life, what about people like him paying a lot more for his socialising or flying less. He said he would not move there.
