I could see a Kim Upamecano Partnership as a bit shaky. I don’t like Tah but I would feel better having him as an option than nobody really.
I mean Kim and Upamecano were in April/May 3.and 4. option against Arsenal and Real Madrid. And suddenly we sell our best defender and our 3. and 4. options are now starters in pre-season. It doesn’t all add up,and I don’t buy that de Ligt was too slow, under Nagelsmanns high press he had no problems and had a top season under him. Mazraoui had a good debut and so did De Ligt for United yesterday. Selling our best defender and best right back cheaply for a player who decided to play for PSG instead, looks so stupid right now.
How many competitions we’re competing in this season? And what are they?
I truly like Upamecano. Sadly, his mistakes gave him the “bad CB” tag among a lot of fans, but he’s by far the most complete CB we have, hopefully, Palhinha’s incorporation will let him thrive.
On the other hand I’m just dying to see a full squad game and discover what Olise and Kane are going to do.
I hate this trend in football where clubs like Chelsea and now us can just freeze out players just because they are paid too much. Goretzka might not be a legend for Bayern but he was a pretty damn important player in a treble winning team and still showed last year more than others like Gnabry and Coman did, can’t say he was any worse than many of the other underperformers, by all accounts a true professional that works very hard in training also but because of his contract he won’t get any chances, the same contract that Bayern gave him. Bayern used to be run like a family, it was the thing that was different from other clubs, now it’s just the same shit like other clubs.
Suuuper hyped for tonight’s game. Hope it’ll give us some insight on our two biggest competitors from last season
What happened with Thiago and Barca, anyone knows?
Is it worth advancing in the Pokal when we have this many games to play? Personally I never really cared about that competition and thought it must have been rather advantageous for us in the past seasons that we went out pretty early and conserved the energy for BL and CL.
This Goretzka situation reminds me of those sketchy car dealers in my city
You look at a car thats obviously broken and theres a reason its been on the salesyard for such a long time but the salesman will still hype you up about it and tell you how nicely its driving lmao
I can fully understand if Leon wants to collect his money, but he has to make a desicion if he wants to atleast try and rekindle his career or end up in the MLS or something in 2 years
> 🚨🔴 FC Bayern increasing the pressure and want to convince Leon #Goretzka to consider a transfer!
> ⚠️ However, Goretzka‘s camp states that he currently expects “100 %” to stay as he wants to fight for his chance. A transfer is only an option for him in the winter, and that’s only if he sees little or no playing time after August ✔️
> 29 y/o midfielder disappointed but remains loyal and professional. He is training well, which has also been confirmed by Vincent Kompany.
> Bayern have not set a price tag and is open to discussions with clubs at any time.

I’m so excited for Olise. He came in yesterday and immediately balled. What a signing.
The way the club is treating Goretzka is just shameful
Goretzka situation is sad, but necessary.
We’re trying to create a competitive atmosphere here where those who deserve to play due to performances and training play, and not those on merit alone.
It’s not because Kimmich wants to play midfield that he has ended up back there – it’s because he has been playing well and earned his spot.
It’s not because Gnabry has played for Bayern for years and is a high earner that he finds himself starting in the first competitive game of the season – it’s because he trained well and has had a good preseason, and been genuinely, one of our best forwards in the last few appearances. (Discounting yesterday)
Goretzka doesn’t just get to make the match day squad because he’s a senior player here. It shouldn’t be that way.
The club may be putting pressure on him to pursue a move – because it’s best for both parties. However – make no mistake, I think I believe in the integrity of Kompany and if Goretzka stays, he will make the squad when he trains well, and others are injured or aren’t as good as him at times during the season.
The odds of that being often though, are quite slim. Due to high competition but also due to his own performances.
He couldn’t and shouldn’t have made the match day squad yesterday. Others are ahead of him. Work for him to do indefinitely.
Upa redemption arc this season I’m calling it. I have a gut feeling he’ll save our ass in a big champions league game
Tel, Musiala and Pavlovic did not have good match yesterday. Probably 3 the weakest players in our squad yesterday. Which can be suprising especially for Tel and Pavlovic that imo had really good performances during pre season. It’s probably just young players having bad day. About Musiala I bet is just him not being 100% ready and with time he will be back in shape in short notice.
But when everyone is healthy – putting up a front attacking 4 will be a challenge for Kompany. I would think that Kane and Musiala in most cases should be guaranteed to start due to their just massive quality, but even them can’t be too comfortable with Muller playing like yesterday. Like everyone else I was filled with joy how quickly Olise produced us a goal, but honestly both Gnabry and Coman played really well yesterday.
If managed properly, this competition for 1st squad should only benefit us.
I think it is too early to fully give up on Goretzka, as I think a 3-man midfield of Palhinha, Kimmich and Goretzka might work well. Palhinha is doing the defensive work, Kimmich is the creator with his passing abilities and Goretzka can use his physicality to push into the opponent‘s box to create overloads.
Davies for Upa yesterday was an interesting sub. I don’t know if a sub when we’re leading 3-0 against a second division team has to have any deeper meaning, but it could indicate just how much Kompany values pace in his CBs and why de Ligt and possibly Dier aren’t highly rated by him. I still believe that we will make a CB signing before the end of the summer mercato
>Joe Gomez did not travel with Liverpool for their game against Ipswich Town as he explores his options before the transfer window closes. Newcastle, Aston Villa, Fulham, Chelsea and clubs abroad have all shown interest in the England international. Aside from domestic interest, Gomez’s predicament could alert Bayern Munich, who have just sold Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui [@_pauljoyce]
Was there no goodbye post by Maz or did I miss it?
