  1. I can only speak for myself, but I wake up every day on a dying planet, in a society that couldn’t give a single shit about me or anyone else, and yeah it’s demoralizing.

  2. Because it feels like there is no hope? Because America is going to fascist shit and the world is going to hell? Because if the economy stays inequitable, they have no hope of owning a home? Because they have to work 2-3 jobs to stay alive? It’s not rocket science FFS.

  3. Housing too expensive. Starting a family is extremely difficult in an environment of sky high childcare costs and dual income being required to support a household.  What else are they gonna spend it on? Economic inequality has ruined hope for the future for many.

  4. because having fun and getting fucked up with my friends is the only thing that feels real anymore.

  5. I’ll explain in one sentence. Save every dime and live very boring life to be able to afford to pay off a home. Or rent while having fun, partying, meeting people, exploring etc.

It’s really simple for some people. I’ve decided to try and live where I have fun doing low cost stuff and save as much as I can while getting nice pay check but not everyone has that luxury

  6. Didn’t this happen 100 years ago? Society suffered greatly during a pandemic (the Spanish flu) and then partied their asses off during the roaring 20s. History repeats.

  7. 20-30 yo’s partying and not knowing when to quit is not a new thing.

  8. I’m sorry but Jesus Christ these comments are just a pity party.  Get a grip

  9. So proud of my son. He’s 21 and has close to $50k saved. He got his first job at 18 and I told him either save your own money or I will charge you rent and save it for you. I also showed him the power of compound interest and the time value of money. That convinced him and he’s never looked back. He’s on track to retiring a multi-millionaire and knows it.

  10. This is what happens as you move toward socialism. People know their hard work will be confiscated for the ‘needy’ or politically preferred, so why work or save?

  11. Article 1: millennials and Gen Z are not spending any money and will crash the economy

Article 2: millennials and Gen Z are spending all their money on booze and drugs to party

    Which one is it
