  3. I recently read a story where the protagonist said “You can’t have a peaceful end to a war until one side surrenders or both sides are willing to talk,” I immediately thought of the Ukraine war. I don’t think Russia will come to the peace table until they realize they’ve got something to lose. Neither side can force the other side to surrender, and until now Russia thought their winning was inevitable. A little reality has been added to the mix.

  5. Did Russia ever tell one of our enemies they can’t use the weapons they sold them to attack us? I don’t understand why we act like it’s crossing a line that’s already been crossed time and time again by Russia.

This war isn’t going away its either going to continue as a war of attrition or its going to escalate, its not just going to stop….

    This all leads back to one human being and he needs to inexplicably catch some extraordinarily aggressive and incurable form of cancer. Day 1 this should have happened.

  9. I suspect the primary reason for the restrictions are to keep a bargaining chip against Russia to get them to avoid doing specific things we don’t want to do that are difficult to prevent, so we leave them as “don’t do X or else we’ll let the dogs of the leash”.

    What those things are I imagine are likely some of their meddling in foreign affairs outside of the war front. I may be wrong but I imagine it’s likely to have leverage over them on something so there’s something realistic to threaten them with
