Bloody wars, paranoia and body doubles – Inside Putin’s brutal 25-year reign

When Boris Yeltsin appointed Vladimir Putin as the next president in 1999, it was hoped the KGB agent would make Russia great again.

But 25 years on, with the ageing leader still at the helm for the foreseeable future, Putin’s tenure so far has been what experts describe as a “catastrophe”.

Putin’s political career echoes features of a megalomaniac tyrant: total authoritarian control over Russia, a brutal crackdown on dissent, manipulation – even on his own citizens – and an ambitious thirst for power.

Experts say his years as a leader – exercising absolute power without checks – have brought Russia to its knees.

  1. Russia is not isolated, they have China and Europe is buying Russian gas and grain funding Putins Army…lol hypocrites in Europe and two faced.

  2. I think that Ukraine has made it abundantly CLEAR that they don't want Russia, don't need Russia, and will NEVER submit to a brutal autocracy or surrender their unique and sovereign identity, history, and future.

  3. Without western technology, trade and investment Russia has become increasingly weak, incompetent and financially unstable. Not to mention the standard of living in Russia is very low, the utilities and infrastructure are seriously neglected. Now with the isolationism, sanctions and crumbling infrastructure and failing economy Russia has a very dark future. 💙💛

  4. Putin is a mafia boss that we know must be removed to go back to a peaceful world. The Chinese are using him to push their agenda

  6. At whichever angle you look, Chekist and war criminal Putin has been a disaster for Russia ! From the economy, human rights, finance and political scene, Putin is a loser. After all, what can we expect from a dour KGB desk colonel who never served in the army and only knows covert espionage and brutality ?

  7. It's hard to understand how the clepto oligarchy and their families and priviledged servants, thought they could steal has much they can and not being giving the example to others to do exactly the same. Now they have to deal with the rotten bases of the regime they have been eating, "yatching" and "palacing" while others live in misery and middle age conditions. Never hand over a jewelry job to a blacksmith.

  8. Russia is part of Bricks, Global South is the future. US and Europe are falling.
Everyone knows what these western thug leaders are doing behind the scenes. Long life to Putin, Xi and Free Palestine!

  9. Russian society breeds animals, to the outside world and to themselves. The Russian public has been so thoroughly brainwashed it's impossible to undo by peaceful means. They have been given a false sense of superiority, and entitlement to dominate their neighbors and the world. They just need to be weakened to the point they see reality, and start on a different path. Losing the war Ukraine would be a perfect starting point. Continue and expand crushing sanctions, and close loopholes. Isolate Russia as completely as possible. Let them rot from within.

  11. Treaties Russia signed to respect the independence and the borders of Ukraine. For example:

    1) The Minsk Agreement (December 1991)

    2) The Budapest Memorandum (1994)

    3) The Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation (1997)

    4) The Partition Treaty on the Status and Conditions of the Black Sea Fleet (1997) – Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea was in violation of this one and of the extension from 2010

In exchange for giving up their nukes, the U.S., the U.K. and Russia would guarantee Ukraine's security in a 1994 agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum. After the Soviet Union collapsed Ukraine was the third largest nuclear power in the world for a short time. Russia attacked a sovereign Ukraine twice. Their words mean nothing.

  12. I'm so amazed how RazzzzPutin makes it appears that they are the victims here….. and sadly, some Western leaders believe that tyrant and so they just extend limited military assistance to Ukraine…..
