A Ukrainian soldier gives food to a child while people nearby calmly water. The locals are grateful because the russian authorities have left them to their own devices.

  1. True glory comes by those deeds
Thanks for being humane and showing the right way

  2. This is how you do hearts and minds. Even if Ukraine withdraw, these people will remember the kindness and understand that Ukraine are not their enemy. Word will spread, both from those left behind and those displaced and abandoned. It’ll get to a point that word spreads and the state won’t be able to censor it, a seed has been planted in these people’s minds.

Intended or not, this seriously undermines the russian state.

  3. The Ukrainians are practicing what Marcus Aurelius said is the best revenge: *Don’t be like your enemy*

Instead of copying the Russian barbarians, they are maintaining their integrity and treating civilians well. And they do that in spite of knowing how brutal and barbaric they would be treated if the situation is a reversed. People who maintain their virtue under such circumstances can never be defeated. They can lose battles and even entire wars, without ever being defeated.

  4. Winning wars by winning over hearts and minds of the population.

  5. Winning hearts and minds. This is how you do it. I’ve seen documentaries about ww2. Those who were children in Germany still remember the kindness of the allied soldiers (not Russia).

    ‘Great job Ukraine. 🇺🇦

  6. Imagine if Russian opposition could organize help for people of Russia…

But no, it’s Ukrianians who need to do it while they whine about sanctions.

  7. Once again the AFU shows it’s quality

    Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦

  8. The child sees the kindness of this soldier.

The WORLD sees the kindness of Ukraine.

  9. I hope that when the Ukrainians withdraw the Russians won’t do nasty stuff to the locals there who received gifts, food and who knows what.

  10. Hurt people Hurt people, kindness is the only way to break the cycle.

  11. Show them pics of destroyed towns and villages and killed people. Let them know who is who. I despise them no matter what and I hope they read these posts. Moronic nation!

  12. If it’s anything like Soviet Russia, these people will be in trouble once Russias in charge of them again

  13. Unlike the absolute destruction Russia laid waste to so many Ukrainian cities, the surrounding buildings are intact and the roses are still growing.

  14. That child looks like he needs food. This what general russia is like?

  15. At this point the Ukrainian invasion of Russia is basically a humanitarian operation.

  16. A handshake. To me, to first offer a handshake in this situation is a sign of respect first, always respect.

That handshake with that young man is a potential revolution in miniature. “Respect first, always respect” is a good line for a future new constitution.

Ukraine is taking point here, not just militarily.
