  1. These people, according to Alfredo Coppa, Professor of Physical Anthropology at Sapienza University, settled in Rome after arriving primarily by trade in goods.

    Many of them surely arrived as slaves, were further liberated (liberti) and became fully roman citizens ; some of them became affluent as testified by important tombs in the area.

  2. Roman Empire was indeed… an empire so how can we talk about only one certain ethnicity. Just think the Egyptian with roman citizenship and for example the ones who lived in Dacia. Two different things.
