Landlord probably pretending these ‘studios’ are bedrooms in their house so they can do it tax free.
That photo makes me sad.
This would depress me so much
9 pictures to show this box? Someone letting loose with their clicking finger.
Karma is coming for them…no wonder
Here listen, when we start reading about folks evicting 90 odd year olds for a few extra quid that’s when I lost all faith. Some people need to truly take a good hard look at themselves in the mirror, fucking gouging people, who by no fault of their own have ended up in a market completely and utterly fucked by government policy.
That’s a disgrace.
cute! baby studio! we need to see the mother studio in the wild..
I lived in a bedsit in the North Strand for 2 years. Going back 15 odd year ago. Was 400pm back then and that was expensive. Much like this photo. But I loved it. I only used it to sleep because I was out most of the day. Walked in and out of town. Live in an apt now and it took me ages to get used to the space.
Does no one pull these people to the side and say “what the fuck are you doing? Is this acceptable”
Or just simply stop associating with them because they think it’s acceptable to treat another human being in a modern Western country like this.
You get to sleep in Abraham Lincoln’s childhood bed.
Well youve attempted to have your own place to yourself so you reap what you sow. Get aload of this guy living on his own cheek.
I have a 200sqm house, in a Forrest, 300 meters from a Trainline, and the sea another 100 meters from that.
My mortgage is less than the rent for this place.
Fuck, and I mean, fuck, the greedy landlord.
Its like a 3 in 1 coffee. 😆
Is there a bathroom or does the sink double up for that function?
Ireland is fucked lads.
Lampshade from B&M saw someone buying that today
Are they supposed to lean against the front door to watch that telly?
Where does their stuff go? Anyone who owns more than one change of clothes is going to have so little storage, their shit will just be everywhere, it’ll be an actual deathtrap if there’s a fire.
I love how daft lets you know how many schools there are in the area, as if you could rent that box with a child.
Christ this is so depressing. In the noughties we used to talk about “the crying chair” all the shitty overpriced “studios” had, the old fashioned upholstered armchair that had clearly come from a clear out in a grandparent’s house. The one you could sit in and cry about being gouged to live in a shitty room. And now the “studios” are literally five times the price and there isn’t even room for the crying chair.
Brings a new meaning to breakfast in bed
not fit for purpose
I thought that was a tv on the wall just inside the door on the left, and you could only watch it by looking at the mirror opposote from your bed!
Soon enough they’ll start renting the tents along the Grand Canal. Just €200 per week
I actually don’t mind that we have these small studios popping up in cities. They’re great for young people who don’t want to have room mates but that price is absolutely criminal. Should be no more than 800 or less considering the bed was built during world war 2
Twice my mortgage in Derry for a 4 bed house 😅
Not as good as the one I found on the North Circular Road that allowed you to cook from your bed. Unfortunately there was no way to use the oven as the bed blocked the door from opening. But I suppose you could buy an oven and place it in the 1m square of emply floor. And the best news is that it was only 1100 a month!
That’s grim
Fuck me. I was paying that for a three bedroom house in Rathmines in 2011.
Shame on everybody who is charging these rents.
The thing that is so annoying is that you *can* make nice studios in small spaces. But this… it’s just lazy and greedy! Not taking the fireplace out is a tell: they don’t plan on making an actual livable studio, otherwise that would go immediately. But removing the fireplace would involve more expense and make it harder to convert back to a single-family house later/affect the re-sell value.
Cunts
I really want to move to another country, but I’d likely have to go alone. It’s just so hard to watch what has happened here.

Can you not just move the table?
