  1. SO IT’S NOT MY SHITTY PC OR PHONE! feck me here I was going nuts about it. It’s decently OK on my PC but on my phone, on WiFi it’s completely borked. it barely works at all.

  2. I have the Same issue with Proximus, it’s probably linked with the fact that google is trying to load an ad inside the video and this is getting blocked by I don’t know what not a network specialist..

  3. Huh, thought it was because I moved the AP to another place. Well, guess the thing can stay mounted on the wall where it is.

  4. God dang it. Always something with these guys. The worst thing is is that the other providers are not that much better.

  5. I kid you not – yesterday morning requested help call via YouTube app and got a call back instantly from someone who seemed knowledgeable and to take it seriously. Said he would escalate and they would reach out to Telenet. I never imagined quick human service from YouTube.

Also submitted WhatsApp to Telenet. They responded but with nothing concrete except that they had multiple reports of problem. About 12h later / since this morning I don’t have the problem on home or mobile internet.

Not sure which action resulted in the fix, and the problem seems widespread so I don’t understand how it could be individually fixed but I recommend you do the same and see what happens.

The best ideas on this are related to the caching server that sits at Telenet. Combined with this being somehow related to the recent changes for ad blocking (premium and no ad blockers here, all problems were on stock iOS).

I had the problem for about 2 weeks up until sometime around 22:00 yesterday.

    Good luck!

  6. omg I didn’t fuck up something while messing with my firewall??? So much relief!!!!!

  7. Srsly… my toddlers complained since Thursday…I’ve been troubleshooting and noticed Telenet was the cause of it after troubleshooting the network and failing over my wan to Starlink… (which worked like a charm).

  8. Isn’t this a global issue where google is working on a new way of pushing ads to avoid ad blockers?

  9. My guess is it’s a dns issue. I have a separate mesh wifi network setup, with 1.1.1.1 set as the dns server and everything is fine on youtube.

  10. …and issues with inconsistent WiFi…and speeds oscillating between 300mbs and 10mbs…and the silly 700GB cap

yeah fuck Telenet and fuck the others too for those horrendous prices
