Putin vows response to Ukraine’s border incursion in Kursk

Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed that Russia will respond to Ukraine’s border incursions as Kyiv’s forces push further into Russian territory.

Last week, in a surprise attack, Ukraine breached the Russian border into the Kursk region, north of Belgorod. On Monday, the Kursk governor reported that Ukrainian forces had advanced 12 kilometers into Russian territory, now controlling 28 settlements in the region.

Putin stated that Ukraine’s attacks aim to intimidate Russian society and destabilize the country. He also noted that Kyiv’s forces are attempting to slow Moscow’s advances on other fronts and strengthen their negotiating position.
