  1. This is fantastic ! I hope they also ask Liz though I don’t agree with her on any policy. I am forever grateful for her commitment to our democracy. Apparently she was over with her daughter for Taylor Swift concert so she’s a Swifty. It’s progress isn’t it ?

  2. Dear MAGA parents: Hulk Hogan and Donald Trump shouldn’t be role models for your sons. This guy should be.

  3. He’s just one of those guys I have all the respect in the world for. We may never agree politically, but he knows when to put the party down for the greatest good which is…what normal people should do. The treatment he got from his family just for being a decent guy was crazy.

  4. Wow, a Republican speaking at the DNC? That’s like mixing oil and water! Can’t wait to see the fireworks – or maybe a political peace offering? Either way, it’s bound to be interesting. Let’s see if Kinzinger can bridge the partisan gap.

  5. One of the few Republicans who fought to hold Trump accountable while still in office. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Kinzinger.

  6. Although I understand the need for unity and I might be downvoted into oblivion but I don’t understand why the DNC would do this. The convention isn’t any ordinary rally where we can come together but rather it’s about showing what the democrats are offering in terms of policy to the American people. This is the same guy that was just as pro war as Bush (which is a big criticism of Biden), he would gut social security the first chance he got and doesn’t represent the change that VP Harris seems to want to offer. Biden did an amazing job in trust busting and paved the way for Americans to actually stand up to corporations and Congressman Kinzinger is the exact opposite 🤷

  7. Adam is so great! I am excited to hear him speak. He is a real Patriot.

  8. One of the few, if not the only, republican I can trust. Did a superb job during the J6 hearings.

  9. Republicans with prime time slots at the Democratic convention. Which DNC hack came up with this idea?

I respect Kinsinger to some extent for standing up to the Orange Felon and his MAGAtt base. But in the end, this guy still believes at least 90% of what they do. Just like Liz Cheney. Just like all those Bush Crime Family hacks at the Lincoln Project.

They may be opposed to Cheeto and that’s great. But don’t make the mistake of believing that makes them “democrats”. We have enough Republicans in the Democratic party as it is, ever since 1992.

  10. The American anti-fascism coalition is a big tent.

I’m happy to argue about differences in taxation policies when the alternative isn’t overthrowing the entire republic.

  11. I never understood how this dude ever ended up a republican

  12. I don’t want to discourage Republicans from doing shit like this at all, but I’m beyond tired of Republicans suddenly discovering their party is pursuing racist shitheads only AFTER they’re leaving the party.

  13. Honestly, I can’t wait for the right to give him a nickname that makes him sound cooler… Adam Kinslayer

  14. Do I love this man’s voting record? No

Do I agree with this man’s policies? No

Do I cherish this man’s integrity? I would fight on the front lines for it

  15. Nice!!! One of a few GOP after McCain still have integrity

  16. Kinzinger would do well if he ran as a Democrat

  17. He’s the perfect guy to tear Trump apart and speak to the threat he poses to the country. Frees Kamala up to then paint a positive vision for the future.

  18. As a former Kinzinger representative, he’s not on our side. He hates gays, abortions, and said “Americans have a right to be a white nationalist.” I get appealing to never Trump republicans, but this asshole isn’t one to hitch a ride with.

  19. I voted against him in every general election, but damn if I don’t respect his personal courage.

  20. Love this dude. He’s a real American patriot who doesn’t bow down to things that are objectively wrong with the GOP.

  21. I’d really like to see Bush Jr make an appearance. Even if it’s a pre-recorded video message, I think it would be a huge deal for the Republicans who feel disenfranchised from their own party. We may not agree on policy but everyone supporting Kamala knows what’s at stake and is choosing the long-term health of our nation over loyalty to Trump. Any and all Republicans who are still on the fence about voting for a liberal should be able to see the ones who disagree with MAGA, and are standing with the rest of us.
Solidarity as Americans from all walks of life will win this.

  22. Don’t like his politics, don’t like his voting record either — but he did risk his political career to consistently attack Trump, especially when Trump made light of and mocked veterans.

Has my respect at the very least for putting his country ahead of what is politically expedient. He can see in the long term, rather than the short term gratification that many in the GOP bought into regardless of the risk and raging dumpster fire that is Trump and those around him.

  23. The message Dems should project: “Hey non-MAGA republicans: we get it. You want this guy and his ilk gone from your party. So help us send a message. Vote for Harris so he is destroyed in the electoral college to make it clear that his brand is not acceptable.”

  24. Kinzinger jumped on the grenade to bring legitimacy to the Jan 6th committee. I’m glad he’s on the side of democracy!

  25. Why the hell are they booking Republicans at the DNC? This guy’s top donors are fossil fuel companies and The Carlyle Group. He should not be getting platformed for changing his mind a couple issues when he’s still backed by Republican donors.

  26. This guy is the man, I’m not one way or the other in terms of right or left but I follow local politics an mostly WGN morning news very closely. Even when he was toeing the line and still supporting his parties President, he was always rational and never over the top MAGA. When shit hit the fan he was one of the first to start speaking out at what was wrong in Washington, etc. As soon as things became insane, he was like, “I’m out, this is fucking nuts.” Basically.

  27. The next two months are gonna be very painful for Donald Dump.

  28. Hearing Kinzinger is cathartic to those of us not in the MAGA cult.

But it still bears the question of why he *still* hasn’t sobered enough to quit the GOP.

Imagine if your book club or baseball team had a few nazis join, then more, and more, and that continued for like 60 years straight and for most of your adult life you were the only non-nazi in group. Wouldn’t you think it’s maybe time to join a new club?

  29. ….and the Overton window continues shifting to the right….
