Well lads can I get some opinions and what you would drink out of the 3 of these? In our case I'm going Murphy's, Beamish then Guinness

  1. Depends on how the flow for all three is. In many places Guinness is the most popular and so will taste the freshest.

If all three options are being pulled with the same frequency I agree with your rating.

  2. Beamish, Murphy’s, Guinness.

1/3rd of each in a pint glass.

Must be poured in that order.

  3. All good but:

    1. Murphys 2. Guinness 3. Beamish.

I love a good Guinness – but Murphys is less hoppy and easier to drink.

No great love for Beamish it always reminds me of Irish pubs abroad.

  4. In Cork:

    1. Beamy
    2. Murphy
    3. Guinney

    Outside Cork:
    1. Guinney
    2. Guinney
    3. Guinness Foreign Extra Stout aka Nigerian Guinness

  5. Location location location

    Beamish in the city
    Murphy’s in the County
Guinness in the provinces or engaged in missionary work abroad

  6. It always warms the heart to see the three wise men together

  7. Beamish, Murphy’s then Guinness. I prefer the bolder flavours.

Not listed but Alex Oatmeal Stout by Wicklow Wolf or Mí Daza by Rising Sons Brewery are great if ye ever get the chance

  8. If I see Beamish in any pub I feel it’s my duty to order it.
    1. Beamish
    2. Guinness
    3. Murphy’s

    But all 3 are great….

  9. Assuming the flow across all three is the same, I’m picking Murphy’s every day of the week and twice on a Sunday!

  10. Beamish tastes like someone tapped their fag into my pint…

And I kind of love it.

  11. I did a blind taste test back in the day…Beamish for me!

  12. Murphy’s is far and away the best.

But oharas Leann foilleann is the best stout in the country.

  13. I go for Beamish or Murphys when they are available because they can be hard to get abroad or in a lot of places in Ireland outside a few counties.

Id prefer Murphys over Beamish because Beamish is quite strong on that dark coffee or chocolate flavour.

I can go on Murphys or Guinness all night but Beamish is just so heavy I have to swap off it after a couple.

Love all of them though and would love to see more competition with Guinness as the craft stouts just arent going to be the ones to do it from a business perspective.

I used to think that it was better to drink Murphys or Beamish because I thought they were Irish owned but after finding out they are owned by Heineken thrn its just tbe foreigner you choose at that point.

  14. I don’t drink any of them but there’s an English lad on YouTube called PrimeMutton who does reviews of all three pretty regularly and throughout various towns, cities and countries. He’s very serious about it but also quite lighthearted, and endears himself to the crowd in the pubs as well, and he’ll give an honest rating straight to a barmans face.

  15. I was in Cork last week and the pints of Murphy’s were something else.

  16. Too shy to come up with a post, but any of yous ever ordered a stout outside Ireland? I’ve been doing that now that I’m away for holidays and 0 out 5 bartenders knew how to pour a stout properly.

  17. From the left to right as per the photo, light , medium, strong in taste terms
