Ukraine and Russia claim new advances in Kursk region | DW News

Both Ukraine and Russia are claiming to have made new advances in the Kursk region.

Pictures released by a Ukrainian military unit claim to show the start of the incursion into Russia. Kyiv says its has taken control of Sudzha, the largest Russian town to fall to Ukraine since the cross-border operation began.

Moscow says it has recaptured one village in Kursk, and that it would send additional forces to the neighbouring Belgorod region. A Kremlin aide told state media that Ukraine would not have attacked Russian territory without direct support from the West.

  3. The video shows Ukrainian troops waving white flags to surrender and did not get bombed. It's like all down hill from here.

  6. Hopefully, Ukraine can hold the frontline down the east without their strongest units as since Russia is not taking the bait, then might as well go for more Russian territory beyond Kursk. The more Russian territory Ukraine takes, even if it's a diversionary attack, the more it will compel Russia to move their better troops away from the Donbass to try and stem Ukraine's advance. So ultimately, the "bait" is taken and the Ukrainian units down south gets some relief. I don't think Ukraine should withdraw from Kursk area if Russia doesn't take the bait. They just need to keep advancing, while holding the eastern frontline. It will force Putin's hand.

  8. In the later stages of these conflict maybe Putin will have to withdraw Russian troops in the 😢DONESK Region and replace them with the North Korean army and say these are military engineers.

    Russian troops will be re assigned to KURSK region to battle against Ukranian forces.

RU already "took the bait" several times, clearly their defense minister (finance majors don't study military tactics) decided the most economical way to send troops into it's own terrritory is buy bus, which are easily destroyed over and over no matter how many children you send, you could send all your buses and you'd lose all of them, my guess is that they are just content in counting their own bodies…
