Until our society chooses to value and protect the environment for its own sake, framing environmental policies as economic interests is probably the most productive way to convince the masses that it matters. This is probably good messaging.
I think it’s funny that the NYT tries to imply that those ads aren’t *really* about environmental policies, like they’re trying to dilute the message or make it less credible, but – without seeing the ads myself – their own descriptions of the ads sound on topic to me.
