Ukraine is taking out key bridges in Russia, isolating Russian soldiers on the wrong side of the river, analysts say

  1. It’s an excellent tactic.

I’m sure there are many other tactics that they’ve planned to defeat.

    I wish them success.

  2. There’s some fun days ahead for anything russian south of that river

  3. It’ll be interesting to see how much hardware Russia abandons.

I doubt it’ll be Kharkiv levels of wholesale abandonment, but Ukraine should pick up a few things in the sale.

  4. The russian soldiers will be glad to have a river between them and Ukrainians 😬

  5. Speaking of bridges – out of curiosity, is it known whether Ukraine’s blown up the 4 bridges on Vovcha river between Prohres and Karlivka, or if they still stand?

I mean, I’m just an armchair general, but it seems to me like the orcs are quite focused on getting within range of Pokrovsk. Denying them crossing over the river would currently leave them with what, one road (going from Ocheretyne to Prohres) to move supplies, personnel, and non-amphibious armor to the front line?
That would force them to attack less important, geographically less advantageous, and easily predictable directions in the Pokrovskiy district and Novohrodivska hromada, in order to create buffer for their logistic routes, giving potentially giving Pokrovsk a few more weeks to fortify.

  6. It seems that the land to the west (of the currently liberated area in Kursk) will fall to Ukraine within days.

  7. Hey Benny! It looks like you’re on the wrong side of the river!

  8. If you want to know what Ukraine is going after, follow the river. Back to their borders.

When Ukraine ultimately is able to take control of their side of the river it will free up a lot of troops since the river will form a highly effective barrier that will almost prevent any large scale surprise attacks.

Ukraine will be able to dig in and divert a huge amount of Russian troops to this new front.

Ideally Russia will put as much effort as it did in capturing bahmut into reclaiming it’s land, and hopefully this gives Ukrainians a lot more room to maneuver in other areas

  9. So Ukraina is in that case saving alot of russian soldiers from the meat grinder. Life savers by saving them from their own terror state.

  10. Now we just need to help all the Russians cross the river Styx. I’m sure most of us would happily pay the ferryman for them.

  11. For some reason this headline reminded me of DIE HARD line “they’re going at the lights” ( I guess because it’s so obvious)

  12. Do they drop leaflets encouraging the Russians to surrender? I know many have but I also have heard that they have been brainwashed into thinking that they will be tortured if they surrender. I bet there are thousands that would rather live than fight in this stupid war.

  13. Looks like they’re really putting the ‘bridge’ in ‘bridge the gap’.

  14. Way to go Ukraine, those Russian soldier were probably ready for a hot meal anyway.

  15. So long as the artillery can get to the ruskies.

  16. The “realists” from the last few months, pontificating from their armchairs about how freezing of the lines and defacto Ukrainian ceding of territory are for some reason extremely fucking quiet at the moment.

    I wonder why 🤔
