There’s a Wikipedia article about it. There is even a special term for it, because the destruction was that elaborate and total
I don’t really like it. That’d be too much colour accent even for a smaller building. The owners of the building are probably just tired of plain modernistic facades neglected for decades, so they went a bit over the top with colours.
A good friend of mine once said ‘you can put a BMW Sticker on a Lada, still the car won’t drive like one’
This architecture is way fancier than commieblocks.

But was it improved on the inside as well? Making a building look nicer doesn’t in itself improve the lives of the people who have to live there. Just ask the people who lived in Grenfell

Frankly the world could use more commieblocks, in the economic sense. If there is one area where the free market has failed spectacularly, it is housing.

Just slaping some color on naked concrete is a bad idea, as it will degrade really fast due to rain, snow and fumes from passing cars.
It’s certainly festive. I’ve been throughout East Europe and the blocks are truly grey, cavernous and depressing. When I saw the comedy ‘Eurotrip’ I had to bust out laughing when they arrived there, especially since there was a dog outside a complex with a human hand in its mouth. Yes, I still laugh at that!
