It appears that Ukraine could defeat Russia, declare the end of the Russian federation, annex the desirable parts of Russia, let the rest breakup into multiple countries based on the population’s votes. So , this Kursk incursion should drive on towards Moscow. When they get close, the Russians will be forced to negotiate and they can be forced to dissolve into manageable states with minimal power to threaten the world again.

19. What is really bad for Russia is if Ukraine takes the territory Russia is handing them south of that river. This allows Ukraine to do three things. One, they no longer have to man that left flank, shortening their front by a bunch and in effect causing Ukraine to have to man no more of a front than they had to man prior to the offensive. And that new front will be at a river, meaning Russia would have to cross the river to counter attack. That's having your cake and eating it too. It also doubles the Russian land they occupy, strengthening their bargaining position for a land swap. What started off as a headache for Putin is quickly turning into a migraine.

    This River goes east to west. Starts east of and goes through the City of Kursk. It joins the Desna River which travels on to Kyiv.
    It is a natural barrier to north south travel. It will make a much more defendable northern border than open fields.
    The Oskil River goes north-south. Starts north of Stary Oskol and east of Kursk and ends in Izium.
    It is a natural barrier to east-west travel. It will make a much more defendable eastern border than open fields.
    Precision weapons make these natural barriers much more defendable than in the past.
