Funny but true.

  1. I don’t need to benefit from every government decision for them to be of value. Glad for the people who use the luas! I’m very fortunate to have a short walk to get to work

  2. He benefits from cheaper housing. Those living in urban areas that have a high population density that supports public transport pay a hefty premium for such. Pros and cons

  3. old people can get the free travel card or a discount, that being said car taxes are way too high, we already pay some of the highest in the eu and we still have high car usage, maybe taxes aren’t the answer

  4. What is with all this moaning about every single measure to do with inflation. They all seem to help too many people or not enough people apparently…

  5. I don’t benefit from it so therefore no one should benefit at all!

Honestly it’s attitudes like this that hold us back as a country.

  6. That fucker hasn’t bought clothes since the 60s, probably lives on bread and butter and burns his own turf in the fire. His cost of living couldn’t be any lower.

  7. Very Excited for these cheaper bus tickets, now all I need is for them to actually run a bus and im sorted

  8. Is that a “standard” bail of hay your man in the background is carrying? By standard I mean *bigger and heavier than you thought it was*. If that lad is casually carrying bails about like that, then can I be forgiven for thinking that he comes from “the best stock”

  9. per capita spending on public transport is much higher in rural areas than urban, every Luas is full up while we have near-empty buses and trains in the countryside. Not that that’s a bad thing, everywhere should have services but to pretend that “them up in Dublin get everything” is ridiculous

  10. How about a rural transport system that can get me from a dorm town to a city 5 days a week for less than the cost of owning a fucking car

  11. The brother behind him going off with his vegan bale to catch the Go bus to the train, arriving in Dublin for the last luas which will let him of at his yoga class where Amrta Suryananda Maha Raja is sharing some innovative gems on Transcendental Meditation in a Tallaght wellness centre. “Namaste” he roars to his brother leaving , “Huzzah” is the reply back.

  12. The thing is if more people use public transport there’s more reason for the government to invest in expanding it and if public transport is cheaper more people will use it, and also if they expand public transport there’ll be more people who’ll use it, so we’ll likely see a positive feedback loop

  13. Imo they should have added a congestion charge like London (although not as expensive) for taking your car into the middle of Dublin city. Get more people using transport, get more tax to fund better public transport, get more cars off the road so faster commutes etc.
