A professor at mit University researched at the main public libraries in San Francisco, New York and LA, to gather evidence that Americans watch less foreign films today because of Netflix, HBOMax, Hulu, and other cable stations. Her contention though controversial at mit, deserves consideration. She looked at copies of newspapers from the 1970's, on microfiche and the evidence indicates Americans did watch more foreign films in the 1970's. In San Francisco looking at the SF Examiner on microfiche, she saw that in November 3,  1974, for example, the SF Examiner in the movie listings showed half the movies in the theatres, in San Francisco were European films, mostly from France and Italy. "Effie Briest", a German film by Director Rainer Werner Fassbender, was showing in two cinemas, and seems to be the most popular movie in San Francisco at the time. As there was a review praising the film, and commenting on the long lines for the movie, on the back page. This is startling and cause for alarm. When she looked at a current SF Chronicle movie listing not more than 10 percent of the movies showing were foreign films. Interesting Americans seem to have lost their appetite for Italian films but not on vacations to Italy! There were no Italian films being shown in the SF Chronicle Movie guide listings, recently. In fact the mit professor was astounded how Italian movies are no longer shown in America anymore. Italian films are no longer distributed in America, and America has betrayed one of their closest allies, they claim to have liberated in ww2. Did America really liberate Italy or was it all political theater? What do Americans have against Italian movies? If I was the Prime Minister of Italy I would close the American Embassy in Italy, in protest and expel all American diplomats out of Italy. I would also ban American tourists from Italy.

17. There's an interesting video on 'hromadske' (subtitled) about journalists interviewing locals in Sudzha who didn't evacuate. Incredible to see how little destruction there is, how the locals are angry with their Ru politicians and army and how the AFU is looking after them with food etc.
