Kursk Offensive: New Combat Footage Shows Ukraine Special Forces Inside Russia

Ukraine’s special forces (SOF) have released new combat footage showing their soldiers fighting inside Russia’s Kursk region.

It’s been almost two weeks since Ukrainian forces launched a cross-border incursion into Russian territory.

And now Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has explained the rationale behind the Kursk offensive – to create a buffer zone and cause maximum damage to Russia’s military capabilities.

Ukraine’s forces have also destroyed several key bridges in the Kursk region as they attempt to disrupt the arrival of Russian reinforcements and supplies.

But while Ukraine is looking to consolidate its unexpected gains in the north, fierce fighting continues in the south, where Russian forces continue their grinding advance.

Some of the most intense combat is taking place around the city of Pokrovsk.

The city is a key defensive hub for Ukraine, lying at an intersection of important roads.

The Russian have reportedly captured Sergiivka, a settlement just 15 kilometres away.

Ukraine will hope to hold onto as much ground as possible ahead of the autumn, to strengthen its negotiating position as efforts continue to seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

  12. How do other americans feel seeing their weapons once again being used to invade a country? Its crazy how much we have given ukraine. Then if russia asks for help we cry boohoo thats not fair. Wish they would just stop all this BS. Russia will never stop unfortunately, its going to end with a draw. Countless lives for nothing.

  14. Now Ukraine has been able to capture more lands in a short amount of time than Russia, and they are able to secure these positions to make the Russian positions in the East obsolete and vulnerable.

    That's bravery Ukraine.
