We’ve seen this before, but maybe need reminding?… in 1981 the Iranians renamed the street on which their British Embassy is located from ‘Winston Churchill Street’ to what you see here. Embassy was forced to create another main entrance on another street. Tehran, 2009. [1600×1200]

That street name is gone now but the burger bar lives on!

My uncle grew up on this street but I think he moved out of Iran before the Hunger Strikes.
Was there in 2017 – sign said BabiSandz rather than Bobby Sands – but still super clear who they are talking about 🙂
During a few months exploring Africa, I was driving through Namibia and in the capital Windhoek, I stumbled across Sean McDermott Street.
We were in Valencia around 9 years ago, not much of tourist spot as everyone who we met was Spanish. But we were walking by flats and it had IRA spray painted on them, felt like being right back at home.
