Hello,

Two weeks ago I ordered something from Brazil that was supposed to arrive in Munich in ten days. However, there were delays and it took longer than planned and now I am abroad and was unable to receive the shipment. Normally there is the option for the neighbors to receive it or for it to be redirected to a branch, but these options are not available for this specific shipment. A friend of mine in Germany called DHL and they said I have to be at home to pay the fees and that is the reason why they cannot redirect it or why the neighbors cannot receive it.

Now I don't understand what I have to do? I won't be back in Germany until the end of September. Has anyone experienced this before? Can the sender change the address or is that too late?

  1. Ask if they can store it for a fee or if a neighbor can receive it and pay for it, if you have one who would do that for you.
