How did Russian society react to the Ukrainian attack?
In today’s video, we take a look at how Russian society reacted to the recent events in the Kursk region. Apart from looking at the responses of Russians directly affected by the Ukrainian invasion of Russia, we also look at Russian media and how they are attempting to create a favourable narrative for the Kremlin, despite the situation on the ground of the ongoing war with Ukraine showing that Russians in the Kursk region are panicking and fleeing from the region.
How was the Ukrainian invasion narrated in the Russian media and in social media? Did the propaganda attack the West this time? And why are Russians asking Putin directly for help instead of their local authorities?
Our Russian expert, Katarzyna Chawryło, answers this and other questions in our analysis of Russian propaganda media and social media news on the situation in Kursk now.

but what about the red panic button putin controls???
russians need to stop crying.. they started all this by taking crimea.. and then invading ukraine.. what did they expect!!! that the ukraine and the world would allow russia to sieze control of such a resource rich country lol haha in your dreams.
Poland would be next, only Russians won't be soft on Poland as they on Ukraine!
The old woman in Russia says the news on TV is lies, lies, lies, all lies! Sounds like right here in the good ole United States!
I wonder how the Kremlin will explain all those civilians moving out of Kursk? Maybe they are tourists on vacation.
All Russia does is constantly Lie Lie Lie to its own people.
Good, now the Russian people know how the Ukraine citizens feel like. Go Ukraine! Americans are with you.
lol… lmao even…
The tyranny in Russia isn't altogether indifferent to Australia. How much better life would be if we the citizans could hold politicians to account before things get to this point. So sad for everyone who are very happy to live and let live.
Russians need a new government. They should try democracy.
Is anything real?
I think the phrase,"blissfully ignorant" best describes the average Russian. These clueless civilians ask Putin for help, while he is the one who made the mess, starting a war. Hilarious 😂.
Look. I’ve never lived in Russia. In my life, I’ve met maybe a dozen Russians and I guess they were nice, but really kind’a clueless, rude and really vulgar. This is what happens when you are cynical, bored from living in poverty and basically cowardly. Your country, Russia, creates a mess in Europe. Your government threatens everyone with war.. Not just war, but nuclear war. You take people hostage just so you can extort money or whatever from everybody else. Your political system and courts are a joke. Do Russians even have words for grace, mercy and justice? The world, all of the rest of us, are living in 2024 and Russia is stuck in some kind of Old World Bolshevik Revolution. I guess thats all you have in your history is wars and death and gulags. I guess that’s all you know and thats sad. Now it’s up to the world, all of us non-Russians, to clean up your disgusting mess. I don’t care how Russian society or social media feels about their mess. I just wish they’d step up and take responsibility for this. Fix something, Do something. That’s all I care about.
Hey!! You weren't supposed to do that!
I like Ukrainians and Russians. They've done nothing wrong to me. However I do know Russia invaded Ukraine while NOT under immediate threat. I blame Russia's for starting the war. I blame Russia's Putin.
Look how putin handled the kursk submarine disaster I hate to say it citizens of the peoples Republic of the kursk oblask but you're fucked your so fucked putin is more concerned with good properganda his palaces and limousines and gold toilet brushes then the citizens safety
The Russains now know how Ukrainians feel, Putin doesn't care about his own people……….
Lets see how long this lasts, and how long the Ukrainians can hold these 80 super important villages.
Putin ist ein völkermörder, siehe Syrien, Tschechien, Afrika, Ukraine. Wann wacht das russische Volk auf
They don't realise what there country has started
Putin will eventually have Russians living like north Koreans .Too scared to speak out and under total control,!
Après avoir coulé le Koursk , vladolf va fêter ça, il va raser Koursk.
J’espère que le nom maudit de Koursk n’existe plus nulle part dans le multivers quantique.

Don't ask vodka drunk russians they do not know the truth
Putin doesn't want Russians to be smart!
In the 8:20 segment the big lass to the right of the speaker has an unfortunate choice in t-shirts. "I'm not sorry" is hardly likely to generate much sympathy, outside Russia at least.
Marinovka? That would be Belgerod Oblast probably, if that's true then Ukraine is 56 KM away from Poroz where they crossed the border. That is a huge distance and the war maps so far would be rather limiting.
9:03 boohoo, now you know first hand how ukrainians felt, in fact they had it WORSE!!! they were brutally murdered for your "special campaign", i'm impressed that Ukraine did not dish out the same treatment… they are better than you russians in every way
I have to remind myself that Russia is a huge place with millions of people and dozens of ethnicities when I hear this "oh no, the evil people we've been attacking for two years are coming after us, what monsters, help us please!"
And of course, in a plea to the Big Strong Leader you'll not include your doubts about how justified the "special military operation" really was, and how it is that all places Putin wishes to invade are conveniently packed with Nazis.
But still: that's not a 19th century villages, you guys had internet access. And if Putin is trying to block it now, that means it wasn't completely blocked up to now.
8:35 getting a taste of your own medecine😂😂😂😂
Slava Ukraine 🎉
Putin is a miserable liar who lies and deceives his own people. He is simply not interested in the Russian population. He has invaded Ukraine and the Russian population is now paying for it!
Seeing these kurskians makes me realize a little about how had feeled germans when the russians crossed the polish territories and the allies the Rhin river: "oh, how awful is this war upon us!"
Well, at least these russians got the best out of it, the germans got bombed to rubble in ww2 by the Allies (this way they couldn't keep up with the industry)
Moscow next, nothing will change they speak Russian they attend the Russian Church and they eat boarch and now they can vote in Ukrainians elections
These non-thinking Russians are bound for a disastrous awakening.
fsb ONLY lies… and the ruzzians believes and supported this…. enjoy
finding out worshipping a dictator does
The irony of the ‘I’m not sorry’ t shirt.
Russian society probably secretly welcome the Ukrainians. Afterall, Pootin is the only one who hates Ukraine because he cant have it
Now Russians felt of how Ukrians felr before and even now. So war does not really give anything good.
You get back what you caused! Russia made a huge mistake..Finland and Sweden became Nato members!
NONE , THE RUSSIANS ARES NOT IDIOTS.
Oh it’s just those villagers out west. Nothing to see here. Go about your business. Here, have some more vodka.
