  1. From Bloomberg Opinion’s Liam Denning:

Donald Trump’s vice presidential nominee Senator JD Vance dropped an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal that accuses Kamala Harris of waging war on US energy.

If that’s true, she’s not much of a general and neither is her boss. US [oil and gas production](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-01-19/biden-s-energy-record-should-shut-down-critics-on-both-sides) has hit new records under President Joe Biden and net exports of these fuels have surged.

  2. Trump cares much more about paying his oil donors back than he doesn’t about voters. Renewables are cheaper and cleaner. There is zero reason to back fossil fuels except to make oil companies richer.

  3. Cherry-picking actual facts would be a step up for the Trump campaign. Talking about actual issues is too. I like the direction this is headed. Lets talk energy policy. Lets get down to specifics.

Do they not get the irony of whining about the gas prices their own oil baron donors are charging while pocketing record profits and then arguing against electric cars that make gas prices irrelevant? How many millions does Elon Musk gotta donate before J.D. Vance changes his tune?

My electric car plugs into a regular clothes dryer outlet. Required zero changes to infrastructure. It runs on rooftop solar, so my electric costs are actually down, and I depend on no oil barons, foreign or domestic, to charge my car. It would cost about 6 bucks to fill up on off-peak power, if I didn’t have solar.
