  1. Good to see the EU strengthening their border policies. Shame the UK is on the outside of that border.

  2. “British”.

Everyone who is outside EU and Schengen will pay for it.

British people need to learn that they are third country citizens in EU (except of Ireland). And they are treat just as any other third country citizen.

  3. Yea, but only if you come by planes, trains and cars. If you decide to come by boats and/or by foot no one will ask you anything about you or where are you coming from

  4. Barely the cost of two Estrella Galicia’s, well worth.

  5. Should be 200% more expensive for american tourists, it would cover up the damages they cause each year.

  6. The funniest thing about this is it’ll upset some of the people who voted for Brexit as they’ll decide it’ll be the EU ‘trying to get back at the uk’ or something silly like that.

  7. Why though? Seems like the EU is just imposing unnecessary admin here.

What are the benefits of the EES?

The Entry/Exit System modernises the management of the EU’s external borders, gradually improving the experience for travellers.
It identifies overstayers and provides reliable data on entries, exits, and refusals of entry.
This system will effectively combat identity fraud by collecting biometric data.
Security within the EU will be strengthened thanks to improved border checks, use of electronic records and biometric data.
The EES promotes real-time information sharing, ensuring that border authorities across the EU have the right information at the right time.

  9. Do note: this is a UK site, so it’s targetted towards a UK audience. Some still may not be aware that this is the result of Brexit.

  10. Is it just me or this seems like pointless news? I mean, it’s 6 euro, not even a rounding error when you’re going on holiday abroad.

In places like, say, Denmark it’s probably the price of a glass of mineral water:)

  11. Great, the benifits just keep coming for us Brits 🤦‍♂️

  12. The only bad thing is that you won’t get stamps on your passport anymore.

  13. You’re always welcome back to the union. Why not join Euro too while you’re at it!
